Moved the side tree to the left and up, darkened wooden apparel shading, altered BG blur

Art Trade for DragonsPixels / DansuDragon

They wanted their character Eos to be drawn by me and on their references sheet it mentioned being a guardian of souls so I decided to have a play on that and draw them with some lost floaty souls that need guiding to the other side. I was going for a fantasy type setting with some familiarity. Originally it was just going to be a barren wasteland but I gave it a fantasy twist of the nebula sky and eerie fog in the distance. It just seemed fitting considering the souls aren't exactly realistic and neither is the character. This is also the first piece which I combined cell-shading with painting type shading. All the background elements are painted and so is the wooden apparel that character wears and the floaty souls. The style of the souls is that their supposed to have spiraling energy around then and that's why they glow is a bit obscure. They also leave similar looking trails behind them as well. I'm a bit unsure of the bg in the sense that it only uses about 5 colours i think? I wanted to keep it dull and desaturated because of the low light levels in the sky but I'm not sure how well i succeeded. But I did discover a really cool way to draw Nebulas so that's fun haha

Oh my gosh this is so unbelievably pretty!!!

I really love the pose, it's so majestic yet her expression has a sense of confusion to it at the same time. The background is absolutely stunning, I can't believe how much detail is in it! It's so cool how she's standing on the fallen tree and watching the soul lights fly around, everything is just so flippin' creative!!

Thank you for this, I love it to pieces!

I remember you saying the pose was fine when you saw the wip a while ago so stuck with it. awwh yeah <3 those poor souls. i love me some details hehe. aww well the idea came about her searching around for them and they gradually started to gravitate towards her so she just happened to stop while walking over the tree. naww <3 thank you

you are welcome ^^ it was a pleasure

Yeah like I loved that sketch pose from that little dump you did, it looked so cool! I'm really happy that you stuck with it to be honest, it really works for Eos!
Aww that's really creative! I love the idea of her walking through some plain lands looking for those wandering souls.
I hope we can do an art trade again some time!

Looks awesome! Still can't believe how much detail went into colouring the lines, and the sky in the background looks beautiful.
