--------------------------------------
"And they're off" the announcer called over the Rosendal Downs. The gates flung open and the thoroughbreds rushed out like wild and crazed beast. The weather was horrid. Rain pouring down in the cold winter air, the ice cold mud and water flew every which direction from underneath their thundering hooves.

The crowds roared load cheering on for their favourite racer hoping to win. And not to far off The owner of Forest Creek Stables stood close to the track with umbrellas watching their star stallion race his heart out with his trusting-and somewhat annoying-Jockey Ailin Aindreas.

The abnormally large 3yo thoroughbred colt towered over the rest of the racers at 18hh. Ailin was surely one of the tallest jockeys out on the track, but he had just as much talent and heart-if not more-then every last racer out there.

The two of them broke away from the group fast already 5 lengths in front of the back as they came around the second turn. Slowly Ailin brought Count back under him and into a slower longer stride pace and the group soon caught up. They started to fall back going from 1st the 17th position and held their spot. "easy boy. Its a longer race then the last, dont blow off all your steam just yet." Ailin said to the stallion. Count snorted in disapproval. He wanted to run-now. But he listened to his rider and did not break.

"He better listen this time and break when we told him too." the owner said to her trusty assistant.
"Who are you talking about ma'am. The horse or the jockey?" TJ asked.
"Ha ha ha" the owner chuckled. "well both I guess."

Coming around the second last turn of the long and exhausting race Ailin could see the other horses starting to get tired but Count was still fresh as a daisy. Slowly he started to move the horse up the pack. They went from 17th-5th when they made the turn. Soon they were by the leader and Count ran at the leaders side and took a good long look at him. Ailin Waved the crop in front of Count and he took off like a bullet exiting the last turn and sped down the home stretch in a matter of seconds across the finish line.

"Counting down the minutes....Why on earth did you go with minutes, it should be more like seconds." TJ said to the owner.
"easy. this Horse-even though he maybe fast and have good endurance-is lazy as hell. It took a lot of hard work to get him to where he is now. And even so he was just not cut out for the short 6 furlong raceses. No sir." The owner stated her reason the the assistant stood there tossing it back and forth. "His Sire came from a long line of successful racers-all very fast. And his Dame, well a long and exciting line of Endurance races and Cross-Country. Put the two of that together and you get the laziest racehorse known to man but really....He's one to watch on the track." The owner continued to explain and a small smirk came to her mouth with her last sentence as she walked away in from the rain.

I think his stockyness looks good! reminds me of a racing shire horse - which is something i would totally love to see - the colours and shading are very well done - overall a 10/10 pic for me
