Description 2004, oil on canvas, 4' x 5'. This is another "Dinosaurs in the Bible" image. It answers the nettlesome old question of why God honored Cain's sacrifice of meat but not Abel's sacrifice of grain: clearly God is a carnivore, and what more fitting carnivore than Tyrannosaurus rex, the "Tyrant King?" Cain is transformed into an apelike hominid to mark him. This painting is partly inspired by the book, "Ishmael."

edit: God, what a terrible photo. I'll have to try and take a better one.

to take better photographs of artwork, take it outside on a sunny day and put it in the shade, and use a tripod. then monkey with it in photoshop to resize it and tweak the colors a little, whatever it takes to make it more accurate.

It was Abel who brought meat, and Cain brought produce.

Ishmael is one of my favorite books, so props to you.

Your T-rex is looking great my friend, but you have anatomy issues in general.

wasn't his grain sacrifice 'half assed and unsinceare" or so I'm trying to recall, the lamb was the choiciest of his flock, the grain was just grain. I forget. I always wounderd myself, thats what people told me.

"why God honored Cain's sacrifice of meat but not Abel's sacrifice of grain"

Apologies in advance, for this is not critque of your art style, but of the accuracy of your description. I believe you have it backwards. According the to the bible, It was Abel who sacrificed meat and Cain who sacrificed grain. God honored Abels sacrfice. Cain was angry/jealous and killed Abel.

Yes, of course, you are correct. Thank you for pointing that out; I shall edit the entry accordingly.
