Description
Comic Book Page, DC Comics, Showcase, Robin and Nightwing. Pencil. You know you're a superhero when you take meetings on top of the Empire State Building. Good thing this page was never published. The poor inker would've taken out a contract on me! lolYikes! This was back in 1993!!! Hahaha!
The soaring bat was merely an aesthetic inclusion added arbitrarily to link the characters to The Batman, even though the Dark Knight wouldn't appear in the story. At the time, I felt that making Robin a generational character was a clever idea. It allowed Dick Grayson to mature, and introduced a refreshing variety to Batman's sidekicks. Tim Drake was okay. But I actually liked Jason Todd as he was initially depicted, though, apparently, few others did. He was magnificently illustrated by the late Don Newton, and Alfredo Alcala.
I also admire Frank Miller's Carrie Kelly iteration.

The page layout is simple yet really catches the eye. I especially like your use of flow from the bottom up in a circular motion...really gives the feel of exceleration....and yes this would have driven an inker crazy *shutters at the thought of how long it would take her to ink this*. I still love it though!

I love your level of detail, its extensive but not to the point that you would get lost in the page. I'd hate to see how ink this would take to do.

I can't help imagining the poor inker putting the final touches while up on top of the real skyscraper. He hands it nonchalantly to the Fedex courier, securely caps his ink bottle, then jumps off straight off the building! lol

Love this piece. And I'd have given it a try, though probably wouldn't have done it justice.

there have been three robins (to my knowlege) Jason, Tim, and Dick... Dick grew up to be nightwing.
