Description So! I've been tagged for the handwriting meme a couple of times XP Once by Sitas-the-Fool on tumblr and by MusicalFire (for a pen meme) just now! Aaand here's my go at it
(I couldn't do it in pen because I have no scanner X( boo) So here's my handwriting, it's a thing!
Speaking of handwriting, our webcomic, Tales from the Well , prominently features Cin's hand-lettering. We wanted to experiment with where we could playfully place text in our pages. So if you're into that stuff, give it a read ;D

Enjoy! yes I overdid the meme, giving it a big fancy illustration weheh I was trained to take everything 110% seriously forever

You deftly interspersed the text throughout and onto the focal background subjects- extremely clever and appealing!

This scene depicted here exudes a wonderful cinematic quality. From the dimension of placing the trees in succeeding order of perspective, from the solid yet fluid textures in the gnarly bark, feathery grass leaves and wooly fabric of the prince's garments, to the subtly gradient hues of waning sunlight or early sunrise filtering through the woods' canopy, the nuances of this scene are a visual delight!

How do you judge in lighting perspective? That is, I notice the trees closest to the front are shaded darker than the trees receding in the background. How do you judge what precise shade or how the light hits the trunks and crowns?

Text, it's the fun thing about children's illustration!

Thank you! Cinematics and comics go hand-in-hand together, so studying one greatly helps the other
I enjoyed painting all those things, especially the trees! Happy, happy trees.

Oh, that's atmospheric perspective at work. It's the idea that the things closer to us are clearer than the things farther away. Applying this creates the illusion of depth. You can get this across by adding more detail to closer objects, dropping lines on further objects, playing with contrast for closer objects etc. For this piece I made the closer objects darker. Hope that helps!

I think you just elevated a meme to an art form xD And omg both of your handwritings are so nice! That's impossible, how you two even exist

Both of your handwriting styles are so delightfully clean and they suit your comic so well! Β And I must say I just loooove the way you did the trees, they have such style and flair! Β It's great how well this composition comes together in terms of color, objects, and text, not an easy feat but you've done it!

Thank you so much! I'm surprised my handwritting managed the praise that it has for this comic! My handwriting was notorious in highschool for not being clean warms my heart!
I really like rendering trees with lots of bark :> they're weird twisty shapes!
aaw thanks again, text+pictures are hard to work in a composition together X)

That's your handwriting? I'm like so jelly, mine looks like crap. xD

Also gotta agree with the previous comment, it's really clever use of meme.

Haha, my handwritting is actually really messy on paper (teachers complain about it constantlyyy) XD oddly enough, when I write on my tablet with certain brushes, my handwritting changes style!

hehe, thank you! I had a lot of positive feedback about my lettering lately, so it seemed appropriate
