Description ... what's that you have there, cute little native?
Advanced alien technology? Oh. Okay then.

---

Just larking around doodling (hence why I stopped at a random point and went 'yep, done'), the pose is based off an adelie penguin, because I noticed their body shape is a little different to your 'average' penguin. Also because penguins are just adorable.

Funfact: Crocatiels get the majority of their technology from a more advanced alien species, that discovered them whilst looking for more planets to colonise. The two now happily coexist.

WINxWINxWIN = SUPER MEGA AWESOME WIN.

...And for once my typing sounds slightly Japanese.

I love it, this is actually about how I pictured them working!

I have plans for one of these critters to join the crew, actually >_>

<_<

After this mission is complete. Bwahahaha

haha XD

So much for the valkyrie being 'not a diplomatic vessel'! XDDD
But actually having a croca' on board could come in handy- they have an amazing affinity for languages, so they can make excellent translators and sometimes even work out languages on the fly! Similarly, they make good codebreakers for the same reason :3

I've been thinking about your current mission- I'm actually working on a little something to do with it X3

Ohhh? Clue me in, it's still in the pre-launch stage. I have to figure out numbers, statistics, personnel (for stats), enemies, encounters (and random ones), placements at the time of the launch, ships, how the 'garden gate' specifically works for the players' understanding (I'm pry gonna tell them 'think stargate', but rather a slingshot version), etc. etc. XD

So we have some time. In reality, though, this attack would take a looooooooong time for the fleet to put together, and of course require review, approval, and ultimately go-ahead from the brass. So, yeah. But knowing that the Altamarans would not object to it really helps speed it along! lol

I think you'll find this REALLY useful in explaining the whole sequence [link]
My god I'd forgotten how much I love that game. When I eventually get home, I'm going to play it from start to finish.

But yeah, I'd been thinking and playing around with how the mission could play out, and I came up with a few potential outcomes/scenarios that I can note to ya :3

Ooooo! Eeexcellent, most excellent....

Oh! I got a piece of department hardware that can help us send you game clips for audio ;D
It's a recorder that downloads to a PC. I just have to figure out how much record time it really has... And how much data that takes up. lol

But excellent, moooost excellent bwahahaha! Co-DMing is win. lol

AND YES!!!! STARFOX!!!! LINK SAVED. That helps explain it much easier, actually, I'd totally forgotten about that!!! It's basically the same concept, actually. But the 'exit half' requires another gate post for the fleet. But before then, it's basically like a cone of energy (classified, meaning I don't have to explain lol) that focuses to a single point far away... So a very acute cone, to a very focused point. But with two gates, it's like a gun barrel rather than a cone.

I have that game!

Is that language a conlang?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jesseth In reply to JaiLatte [2012-02-05 03:17:49 +0000 UTC]

As awesome as that would be, at present it's merely an english alphabet cypher :0

I would actually quite like to one day make at least one conlang for my alien species, but I'm somewhat inhibited by my apparent awfulness at learning other languages (let alone building them)!

I also have some vague aspirations of one day making comics, and for that I decided a cypher would be better, because it could always turn into a cool little bilingual bonus for the readers to figure out the cypher and work out alien conversations in the background and such X3

JaiLatte In reply to Jesseth [2012-02-05 19:23:48 +0000 UTC]

I see, I see. XD

Yeah I can totally see why a cypher would work better. Feel free to do some of the challenges though if you'd like. :>

Jesseth In reply to chibiultima [2012-02-05 00:42:21 +0000 UTC]

:3 thanks! not sure if you meant that in a serious sense or not, but I actually made a crocatiel squiby adoptable, if you wanted one in the form of those 'click to level me up' pets X3

[link]

I'd actually totally forgotten about that until someone else asked if the species was open for adoptions XD

such a cute species!
is it an open one?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jesseth In reply to Pixelsnaxs [2012-02-05 00:38:53 +0000 UTC]

haha, thank you!
I'm afraid they aren't open at the moment, partly because I haven't even made a reference sheet for them yet X'3

HOWEVER! Now that I think about it, I DID make a crocatiel adoptable pet over on Squiby.net... so if you already have a squiby account, then feel free to go adopt one! XD

you can take a look here- [link]

oh cool! ^^
i got an account, and im on the adopt page.
do they all look the same when they hatch?
does anyone else have one?
^,^ its so cute! this site is pretty neat!

thanks for telling me about it!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jesseth In reply to Pixelsnaxs [2012-02-05 00:58:27 +0000 UTC]

:3 for the time being, there's only one sort of crocatiel, and they all hatch the same... but maybe some day I'll get around to making different colours and sorts.
I think quite a few Crocatiels have been created, but the site doesn't tell me who adopts them, so I couldn't tell you who sadly :0

But I'm glad you like them anyway X3
