So I went to dickblick like you said and bought a shitload of different peach colors. Ah, the freedom of variety! So I just wanted to say thank you again for showing me the site. Oh, and I am officially in love with seashell pink. Perfect for skin! And beige is a little yellower than I thought. I thought it was going to be more... khaki-ish.

Prismacolor pencils are what I use. Not the 'verithin', which is another pencil the same company makes. There shouldn't be any cheapies by the same name since I'm pretty sure that the company has trademarked it.

Actually, I was going to ask if you've ever used verithins. I tried some out and used them on top of my reg prismas, and it's an interesting effect. Have you ever tried it?

Yes, usually when I want sharp lines.. though I layer my regular prismas SO much that often all the verithins can do is scrape off a layer of pencil. So it's a nice effect at times, but it can run you into trouble too.

Yeah, I did notice that once you build up the layers it's easier to scrape off a mistake. I did actually run into trouble with the verithins - one was so sharp that it scraped the paper a bit and I'm having a hard time smoothing it out. Maybe I'll just keep them limited to things like eyes...

Wow. That's gorgeous. I always get so lost on skin tones so it's nice to see how many other people do it. I may try your technique.
If that's mutilation I want to to mutilate me! LOL.

mm you can actually buy every single color individually. If I were you I'd look around your art stores to find one that has a wider variety.

REALLY?? Every art store I've been to in town only has certain colors. I must look harder, thank you!

yep yep. You can buy ANY of their colors individually, it's just a matter of finding an art supply store that sells them that way. i think you can also go onto like.. dickblick.com and get them that way too.

Holy shitballs batman there they are! And they're relatively cheap too @ $1.15, but we'll have to see about shipping. I don't care, it's worth it! And yes, there goes my next paycheck. Thank you Jess!
