Description At least I think that's what these types of butterflies are called.

As before, yes this is an older piece that you saw in a mass upload with several other pieces. It's one of the ones I'm particularly fond of, so I thought I'd share it by itself (especially since I won't be uploading anything new until sometime in september).

Commission for ~twilaa and was rather enjoyable. Colored pencils and watercolors.

It's really quite lovely and the whole composition is really well-planned. I love how tiny yet very elegant this toku is.

I tried using colored pencils for the skin on one of my watercolor paintings, "True Love" on the tall red-haired Archangel Uriel, but I failed at it. Any tips or suggestions would mean a great deal to me to overcome this problem.

lots and lots of very light layers. Treat it exactly like you would coloring it on regular paper.

It's going to take me a while to find the TIME to try
to do lots & lots of very light layers of colored pencils.

*grin* yeah I dig basing fantasy in nature. I mean yes, okay, it's fantasy .you can do whatever you want. But it just is so much more fun to have it feel realistic and maybe even possible.
