A cute little bonding moment. I am obsessed with Julien to the point of fangirl absurdity. ;D I made this using screen shots, and edited them together, plus added on my own digital drawing and texturing in it. Didn't turn out how I thought it would, but oh well.MAJOR STORY PLOTLINE SPOILERS BELOW!!! So don't read the caption, unless you've beaten the game, hehe.

Julien: How did you!?? I can't believe it! But, wait a minute... Since when have you called me....? Oh, never mind.

I want to think that my pawn will be happy with Julien, just as I was...regardless of the bizarre gender swap, lol. I want to think that he has become me in a sense...perhaps carrying my fondest memories around with him. Anyone whom I love dearly, so shall he.

Bahaha, me too, theres something about Julien that just draws me too him everytime. We need a team julien stamp or something ^^. I honestly thought this was purely done digitally by tablet or something untill i read the description. Nice job!!

Heheh, thank you.Ā I did draw a lot of it digitally.Ā And yeah...Julien has a certain charm about him.Ā Even before the first game came out, I saw him a few of the trailers, and had decided that if he were a romance option, I would be going for him immediately once I had my hands on the game, lol.Ā

I managed to get him romanced on my first shot mainly because i accidentally threw poor aelinore over the castle walls. :/

Heheh, thanks.Ā And sadly, I didn't get to romance him on my first playthrough, because no one had figured out exactly how to yet, lol.Ā Who would have thought that killing him and bringing him back to life was the only way?Ā Hahaha.Ā I ended up finally getting him maybe on my third or fourth playthrough.Ā xDĀ Ā And yeah....I stayed away from Aelinore.Ā She was crazy!

Haha, at first i thought you had to up his affinity and let the duel happen, but yeah I threw a crate at them....for the lulz, 'cause i thought it was a scripted event. It was a sheer fluke on my part. And yes, although i think that they made the romance process for him a bit too vague, but then again when you think about it, it actually makes sense if you discover that you can aid NPC's with the wakestone and want him badly enough. Which we obviously did. :\ Anyway yes, haha, after the whipping scene i was pissed.

This is lovely! I really like the poses. Very talented. I wanted to romance Julien too, after I found out there was a way to avoid him leaving the game. Unfortunately, the first time my character ended up with some weird merchant, so the ending scenes were *really* awkward. Then it was Mercedes, which I was happy with, but finally the third time it was Julien. yay! I'm just glad I never ended up with the Duchess. DX
It's a bit weird though, 'cause I made my Arisen and Pawn for that playthrough before I knew what happens in the ending, and while my Arisen was a woman, my Pawn looked like a little girl because I based them off Daenerys and Arya from A Song of Ice and Fire. So instead of a genderswap, my Pawn just aged *really* quickly. >.>

Thank you! And yeah....I think that he is by far the hardest NPC in the game to romance. I hated how my female character ended up with women two times in a row...first Selene, and then Mercedes, lol. I went for Julien three times also, and it was after the third time that I actually got him. 
Uggh....the duchess. I never even did her quests. She's one of the ones I disliked from the get-go.
Well, I suppose aging really quickly isn't quite as awkward as gender swap though. I just can't help but laugh when thinking of my pawn having a female body and a male voice for the rest of his/her life, lol.
Cool idea for your characters though. I thought about making characters from that series, but then I saw way too many pawns in the Rift based on it, so I decided to change tactics. But I'm more for originality anyway.

You're welcome! I like Mercedes, but she wasn't my first choice. Really glad I didn't end up with Selene though, she looks like a child. DX Unfortunately, the random merchant I ended up with wasn't Reynard. I wouldn't have minded that so much!

I wish I hadn't done the Duchess's quests either - the game actually forces your Arisen to sleep with her!

Exactly. I am not sure what my arisen saw in a little girl. Quite frankly, the ending of the first playthrough was really freaky. xD Hehe, Reynard is such a cutie. I romanced him in one of my playthroughs. His ending dialogue is sooo long, lol.
And yeah, I hate how the game forces you to sleep with the duchess. Just another reason why I'm glad I didn't like her needy self in the first place.
Nice. I've done that before...but only after a couple of playthroughs. I always start out with a character who either looks like me, or a character in one of my stories.
I'm just happy that we get to make two characters....and very sad that they aren't can't have a romance. xD

I'm surprised Reynard's ending dialogue is long, what does he have to talk about, lol? Rising prices of potions?
Same with me, I always make my own character first, then do another one from a book/game/etc after a couple of playthroughs.
Hehe, I wanted them to romance too! But still, I loved being able to do so much with the character customisation for two characters. XD

Well, he mainly talks about stuff related to the quest that you did for him...helping him find out more about his father and all that....but yes, it seems that business is also on his mind after the dialogue is complete. xD I actually made a video of my romance with him. [link] You have to skip to 8:26 to see the dialogue. It's actually rather interesting....and just another reason to love him.
It would be like writing a novel...building up your own perfect soulmate, and then being able to romance them at the end. And quite honestly, that's really what RPGs are all about...building stories.

If only I had my mic turned on while recording it... But yes, he is one of my absolute favorite characters in the game.
Yep. That's also the reason I play games mostly on the pc....so that I can mod them to my tastes, and even make my own mods with my own stories.
The very second that they finally decide to release DD on pc, I am buying it...hands down, no questions asked.

Thanks buddy. I tend to make a lot of characters with dual toned eyes....mainly because I have sectoral heterochromia myself.
PS: (on a random side note)I read your story earliler...but I wanted to write a more detailed review. I just have an extremely busy day ahead, so I don't have time just yet to review it. Will review at the end of the day though, hopefully. ;D

On my first gameplay I got Madeleine as Love Interest (My Arisen is a girl) -.- and I wanted Reynard,
I'm on the second walk trough of the game and I'm still thinking if getting Reynard or Julien , tho, I wish I could end up with my pawn, but it's obviously NOT going to happen. DD2 I'm hopefully that they will come with something like that

Here is a good way to get whoever you want. Make sure you lower the affinity of every single person that you have raised the affinity of. You can do this by either hitting them with your weapon, or simply sheathing and unsheathing your weapon in front of them if you don't want the jailtime OR you can just run into them over and over again until you hear the affinity drop sound at least three times. It did the trick for me. Now I can get absolutely ANYONE that I want.

Lol. I'm surprised at how many people watched my Julien romance video. I had watched someone else's before pursuing him and realized that I had done everything wrong two times in a row. The first time I ended up with Selene, and then the second time, I ended up with Mercedes AND Selene,even after giving Julien 5 arisen's bond rings and over 50 festival pies. We were our own little harem, lol. In not killing him during that duel, I was making the biggest mistake ever in the game.
And sadly, besides the after-dragon exchange, he doesn't say anything else at the end. I wonder why all the female NPCs have an entire dialogue at the end, and all the guys just stand and smile...it's so sad, and sexist at the same time.
But anyway, haha. Nah, don't worry about it. That's perfectly fine with me.

Yes! Exactly! Why incorporate romance in at all unless it is geared specifically for girls? I mean, guys play games for straight up killing, but most girls play for the storyline and romance. Surely Capcom must have thought about this at some point in time.

The thing with Selene was lovely tho, she was a pawn and happened the same thing that happens to our self and pawn, but Selene fell in love with me D: , i was like " noh noh noooh!! I want MY pawn ! " and that girls just went up to live on my house e.e just like that ! ugh god, the game is amazing but they really should think that if they put a romance story, they should go deeper!

Haha, exactly. Most guys aren't even trying to romance anyone, and they just raise the affinity of shopkeepers to get a discount. Then most of them end up with Caxton or Asalam as their love interest at the end, lol.
That is true. I thought that it was really special to have Selene there at the end with my pawn...that way, at least she won't be alone anymore. And then in the second one, she still stayed at the house for him. Next playthrough, I'll do her quests jsut to have her living in the house where she can feel safe, but I'll still lower her affinity by running into her a bunch of times to guarantee that she won't be head over heels for me again. I mean, it wouldn't have been hard to make one special romance scene for pawns. It is true. We girls want our romances to be intricate, and of our own choice.

Yeah. I tried the carrot trick once, just to see if it would work. I typically just hack my game though. Truthfully, I've always been a game hacker, and luckily for me, a text editor was released for DD on virtually day one of the release, so I taught myself how to edit gold, items, stats and I even found how to make infinite health items by mistake, lol. My brother said that my hacking was pathetic, and that I should actually play the game, but then I told him, "First of all, I only play games for the romance at the end. Secondly, how else am I going to get all of those cool DLC items before everyone else?"

And I did finish the storyline...and it was definitely very satisfying. In fact, I loved it so much that I'm actually working on finishing my fourth playthrough, lol.
Right now, I'm just playing for the fun of hacking into the game and getting all the items, lol....but not to mention,just the simple enjoyment of the main storyline. It's really by far one of the best games I've ever played. There is honestly no end to the stuff that you can do in the game either. I'm also mainly playing for cute romances too, lol. I've amassed a huge stash of screenshots captured from a built-in tool in the game, if ever you're interested in looking at some screens from it. There are a few spoilers, but nothing story related or anything. [link] But anyway, thanks again buddy. Means a lot.

wow buddy I had a look at all your screen shots and it looks really good. I could see what appeared to be a harpy and looks like you got to face that dragon in the end and can you sometimes even ride certain animals?? lol lot of cute guys in it too and was one of your main characters you greated wearing a patch?? I can see why you are liking it so much. a big bonus too that it has an epic story line to go with it

Yep. I killed the main boss at the end with a single arrow, lol. In fact, I posted an ending video up on youtube to sort of show off my character's romance with the NPC, Julien. I did not edit it at all, lol: [link] (you don't have to watch it if you don't want any story spoilers, haha) ;D But yeah. With all of the main bosses...never a long, drawn-out battle. I love it. xD
