I haven't really looked into funerals much - and to be honest - I'm a big fan of the movie 13th warrior so had probably not long watched it when I painted this so many years ago.

One of my D&D characters was about to have a burial like that, but they decided to be assholes and take my body to some lab so they could clone it.

Thanks again! This was actually quite a quick painting, and I used a pretty big brush just gave the impression of fire.

Really good effect on the flames. The result all in all is very expressive, the lack of definition helps alot in this case. That ship is burning, no doubt about it!

The work is great. I love the splashes of the sea and the fire, how it burns down the canvas. But I think the aft is higher then it should be, though I may be wrong *shrugs*. And since the fire is actually burning, don't you think it should be reflected in the water?

Thankyou - and I can't believe I didn't put any hint of reflection or glow in the water of the fire *how embarassing* Thankyou so much for your constructive criticism. Last night I was actually repainting this picture in oils and again, have not done the reflection in the water so will be off to fix that - thanks! and yes, I didn't do too good with the dimensions of this ship and I should probaly sit down and sketch it out properly, I think in my new one it's a bit better but not sure lol. Thanks I used the same technique as the digital flames and it turned out okay. Yep I've been meaning to paint all the gods, but I want to do it in oils but MAN they take ages to do so I'm doing some shite ones in acrylic just to curb my hunger.
