no problem. love the viking stuff. I see you like Turisas and Bal Saggoth. Both are great bands. I saw Turisas last month in my city. They played one hell of a show with Alestorm and Arkona

You should check out Alestorm if you love the pirate theme. Keelhauled is a good song to start off with. I might upload some pics from Paganfest, which I saw all those bands at. Do you like Ensiferum?

They are from Hungary and have both male and female vocals. I discovered them recently and regret not finding them years ago.

I really like this. I've read other comments ( All good ) and i get where stuff like suggested tears in the sail etc is coming from totally, but you dont ALWAYS need that kind of thing imo. This pic does what it wants/needs to. Lovely characterful piece, a tight bit of work imo rich with colour and atmosphere, itsays 'Viking' just not all Viking stuff needs that dark grim stuff, the colours support that other richer side of their culture, u know theyre gonna bash some saxon priest with or without the torn sail

Yeah definately a grimier one is on the cards, am doing a fleet landing on a shore at the moment...well if four boats can be called a fleet LOL might add more in the bg.

You know I'm just about your #1 fan, right? I love you and I love your art. However, I have to say for this one that...
I feel it's lacking and could be better. I think of other pieces you've done, and feel this one has fallen short somehow. That's not to say it isn't a good painting - it is! And far better than what I could do. BUT it's not the best that YOU can do. To me, it looks safe. Not exciting. I want this Viking Dragonship to strike FEAR into the hearts of the people on the land it's heading for!
Maybe even a slight tear in the sail.
If I weren't to compare this to other pieces you've done (in my head), I would say it's great. The composition is wonderful. Everything's fantastic. Unfortunately, you've set a higher standard for yourself that I expect you to follow through on.

yeah I know what you mean, and my fiance pointed this out as well. But I just couldn't push it any further. The only thing I could think of was a tear in the sail, then I thought, nah they'd patch that up straight away, so I should've at least put a patch on the sail lol.
So I decided that I'd finish it up there and put these thoughts towards my next piece. The steps seem to be getting smaller lol
