Maybe it's because I've always had a soft spot for villians, but I found Davy Jones to be more likable than nasty or evil. (Unlike the movie's other villian, that slimy Lord Beckett...blah). OK, so he sent a giant octopus monster after Captain Jack, but other than that, there wasn't much about him that would make him, well, hateable. So I figured the creepy ol' sea cap'n deserved a page in my sketchbook. I made him look rather forlorn...he seemed a rather tragic figure.All things Pirates of the Caribbean are c. to Disney. Arrrrr.

You did a good job. I agree. Davy Jones wasn't the worst villian in that movie. I wish they would explore more of the woman that made him rip out his own heart.
Lord Beckett...was he the same guy that plays Lucius Malfoy. He sort of has that same bad vibe.

I think we can count on finding out more about Davy Jones's backstory in the next Pirates movie...but on that count, did you catch that Tia Dalma and Davy Jones both had that exact same music box?
Blah, Lord Beckett....I hope he meets a horrible demise in the next movie as well.

No I didn't catch that about the music box. Now versions of Tia and Davy fill my head. *shivers. I agree with you that Lord Beckett needs a suitable demise-perhaps ending up on Davy's ship.

I purposely tried to make him look sad...at several points in the movie he looked like that, kind of lost and vulnerable.

I didn't like him quite as much as Cap'n Jack, but Jack is, hands down, my favourite movie character of all time, after all. But like I said....I've always liked villians too. XD

I was considering tackling him next, but I don't think I could do him justice, since I'm not that good at drawing humans. Davy was more....squid....than human, after all.

Yeah I've been working on drawing human faces lately, and it's really hard!! Just gotta keep in mind that you cant improve if you dont work for it.. but it can be very discouraging at times... but you did awsome on Davy jones!

Aw, I didn't seem him as evil. Maybe a little misguided, but not evil. Lord Beckett was the real evil one.
