Some random fanart. I was looking around on here and saw extremely few fanarts from the RPG game "The Legend of Dragoon." Sure, it's not as popular as Final Fantasy; the story is good, but the characters are cliche, the dialogue is TERRIBLE, and the battle system is repetitive...however, it does boast the single most awesome giant badass dragon EVER. It was said to be so powerful it couldn't be killed, and thus was sealed under a mountain for 10,000 years. Of course, in the course of the game your ragtag gang of characters battle and defeat it, even though it was supposedly impossible to kill....but whatever. In size comparison, a person is about as tall as the giant eyeball (yesh, that IS an eyeball) in the middle of its chin. So yeah, it's huge. And it's got a friggin energy cannon on its back.Just a quick pen drawing to take a break in between other things I am working on. I have tried drawing this brute dozens of times in the past, but haven't tried for awhile, so this is the best drawing I've done of it thus far....and never can I get the whole thing to fit on the paper....

I agree with you on the whole thing about the game being good for having some flaws. It's like the original Resident Evil game. It had bad voice acting and it's graphics aren't as good as games now, but it is still an excellent game.

Actually, there's a reason why it was killable by your characters in the game. Several. For one, it has been trapped and starved for 10,000 years despite its long life. For another, it had already sustained injuries(as notable by its broken eighth wing) from when it was sealed. And on top of that, before the characters even got to it, Lloyd had been fighting it with the Dragon Buster, a weapon designed specifically to cancel out the powers and considerably weaken both dragons and dragoons. As such, the Divine Dragon King was far from full power when fought by the characters.
And overall, I must say, you did a kick ass drawing of it.^^

Naw, you said the Dragon Buster did that. The Dragon Buster was designed to kill Dragons and Dragoons alike. The Dragon Block Staff cancels out powers and weakens Dragons/Dragoons.
Although, it confuses me that Lloyd wasn't able to kill the DD with it. Must've been REALLY powerful even then.
Either way, it took a hell lot of stuff to weaken that ....that thing. |D

lol Yeah. And with how weakened it was, it still was one of the hardest bosses in the game. As such..... imagine how it was at full strength in the earlier parts of the Dragon Campaign.o_O

And yet, they found a way to imprison it.o_O Imagine how the fight must have been just to seal that thing away, especially since said fight was savage enough to make this THING lose one of its wings.o_O

Oh, he's so pretty~ Also, yeah... Fighting him... =w= Hmmmn. But worth it. Nothing is better than hearing Dart Yelling 'Divine Dragon Balls".

The Divine Dragon was awesome, so was the game. It's cg was mind blowing for it's time, supassing just about everything to date. It took Sony 3 years and 100 people workined on it. I'm doing my own pic of the beast. Good stuff, wish there was a sequel

I don't know, I think a sequal would ruin it--I mean, what more kind of story could they possibly tell that would in any way do justice to the original? I'd be interested to see your drawing of it though, I've only seen two or three other divine dragons floating around the site...

The actual inking didn't really take too long, but getting a workable pose sort of did....it's so hard to draw this guy since he's all over the place. which is probably why there aren't more pics of him XD

that's the way to go alright. I'm self-taught as an artist, so everything I've learned I've learned from doing over and over....including trying to fit this dragon on a sheet of paper. XD
