EDIT: OMG! This got a Daily Deviation!!!! Holey cows! Would never have thought these guys would get this kind of notice! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to the kind person(s?) who suggested it!!!!

So the mermaid lady (the one who asked me for commissions in the first place) asked me if I would be willing to do another request....
..after asking me if I did food (I sent her a link to my Happy Food section), she sent me a picture of her tattoo (top left of the picture) and asked if I could make them. She also requested the carrot have glasses.
Totally curious how this couple came about, she explained that they represented her and her husband. The veggies came about after she had given him a card with a carrot and a pea on it. (Wish I could've seen what it said...) The weapons represented their love of horror movies.
The veggies were not a problem at all. In fact, I even found the perfect carrot pattern online!
The weapons, however presented several issues. At first I was going to make them from other stuff but my curiosity got the better of me and I Googled "butcher knife" and "chainsaw". Man was I surprised!!! All the horror icon dolls that are out there, though it shouldn't have been a surprise, just astounded me!
The knife took several tries (the first one eventually went to the Chucky doll):
After studying more pictures of real and crochet knifes, I eventually b.s.-ed a version that I was happy with.
The chainsaw took me about 2 weeks to problem solve. I did all the other stuff, including the glasses and the 3rd Mermaid and Minnie girl, before I tackled the chainsaw. I think I was scared...I had no idea how to begin this one. I did Google chainsaws but most were made life size. The only one that came close was attached to an Ash doll. I studied that pattern and eventually came up with my own. I attached Velcro to both and called it good.
The lady loved them and seemed especially excited about how I used the chain for the the blade. She couldn't wait the month to her anniversary, so she gave them to her husband that night. She wrote me to say that he loved them and played with the chainsaw for a few minutes, making "Vroom vroom" sounds. Totally awesome!
People had asked me "what the heck...?" when they saw the weapons and I told them they were a Zombie fighting team. Later I asked the lady what they were and she said they were veggie slasher villains.
Anyways, I am pleased this worked...and am now thinking of making more food again.
I really need to get back to my cross stitch and drawing stuff....
