speaking of which, I've started collectingΒ clap traps but, the yellow from the first game is no longer sold retail. Would your transformer tutorial be best to paint a blue clap trap yellow or other colors?

Jin-Saotome In reply to PhantomX999 [2013-09-23 02:19:35 +0000 UTC]
Sure, any sort of plastic would work for that tutorial. Matte colors of Claptrap seem to be the norm so hand-painting Model Master Acryl colors using the washes/drybrushing highlights techniques would be great for it.

Okay, Jin I have looked at I believe all of your stuff now and have been on the edge of my seat waiting for my slow ass computer to load the next images at every turn. I've built prolly about 500 figures over the last 15 years and have looked at a ton of other artists figures and I have to say that your work just kicks so much ass! You are really good my friend and you have my respect. My only regret is that I didn't have a camera when I was building and all of my figures have either found their way to my sons moms attic (aka the black hole. The attic's a mess too, jk.) or have met a variety of fates over the years. I would've loved the opportunity to show you some of my own creations as it's always great to share work and ideas with someone who's work you respect and it's tough when the people I know don't know why I would waste time "playing with dolls". Be nice to talk with someone who gets it. Anyway, I dig your work and hope you keep up the good work and find your fortune doing it.

Aw man, I'd love to see your work too. Is there any way you can dig some out? If you have a decent celphone (iphone4-5, droid) they have cameras that can take excellent pictures, gallery quality even if they have the macro setting. 500 figures is HUGE, I can't believe you don't have a huge site of them or something. Thanks for the compliments man,

I've always been a Frank Frazetta fan. Really cool seeing his work done in this form. HAD? What a terrible loss. You must be traumatized, haha.

I know, right? I didn't have any camera at all when my son and I were building together and he lives in a whole other city now and in college. Tough to get a hold of. Haven't seen him in 2 years. I've been pretty inspired by your work and after we find our house and I have work space I'm gonna' go back into build mode and will take pictures this time. I do have a couple of zombie figure pics on my page tho for the time being.

I think this could very well be my favorite custom of yours! I really like his mask. The leather belt down the middle of his face, as well as the goggles and the top hat, make this a very unique figure. This is such an interesting idea, and the robotic legs on his backpack remind me a lot of the spider robot from "Wild Wild West" XD
