Description
The god of Thunder and Lightning appears in my Steampunk Marvel series decked out in gears and chains ready to smite anyone that stands in his way. The theme here is the electrical apparatus units on him are used to channel the lightning through the mighty Mjolnir. The units are see-through and he has all sorts of real metal gears and chains integrated into his outfit.Thor was made from an Xmen United Juggernaut, Spiderman Juggernaut Head, DC Universe Mongul lower legs, Beta Ray Bill helmet wings, Styker backpack units, and a cape from some other figure. Mjolnir was made from Energon Longrack's arm unit turned upside down with gears/effects added.

He's a little more cartoonish than the rest of the line. also looks a little busy in the leg area. Other than that great job!

Anyone looking at my most recent favorites might just think I'm a Thor fan. It's just that two really great pieces of art featuring the hammer holder came out and well got my attention. *reau did a Thor Thursday which just came to it's conclusion. Awesome design and work man.

It's a wonderfully expressive piece that captures the essence of Steampunk perfectly and blends it beautifully to the Marvel lore of Thor. Even the most minuscule detail should be appreciated; it's clear you take a lot of care and pride in your work.
The smallest, most infinitesimal complaint I might have with this piece is that, while I understand leather straps and goggles are a staple to anything Steampunk, his own chinstrap and goggles arrangement first made me think of "The Weaponer" from a recent Green Lantern Corps. comic. Again, it is a notice of my own, and is hardly a flaw in the first place, merely an alternate viewing. I only brought it up in the curiosity of anyone else making a similar comparison.

why does he have little apparati on each bicep? if they were channeling lightning to Mjolnir, shouldn't they be in series down his right arm?

If I could find those bendy lightning bolts I'd show you, arrggh. It's suppose to circle around his body. They're on his knees too. He's struck by a bolt of lighting that charges from his shoulders, chest armor ports, arms, knees, and feet. Kinda like a battery.

I would've thought the helmet would've came from a beefed up Nightowl (I hope I didn't remember the wrong name..) from Watchmen. But anyway, amazing work, as always. So very jealous of your ability to make the sweetest looking customs.
