Thanks for the +fav. I never thought about the overhead angle thing, but it must've clearly been an unconscious choice, due to having played such games. Makes sense. A more cinematic angle wouldn't maybe work as well..

Interesting to "see what the heroes have got on them" and how they take their rest after a long journey. They don't seem to have much... but I like the potions on the right.
Anyhow, the situation and the inventory (though a bit "boring"?) is interesting

Yeah, the inventory is a bit generic, but I suppose it illustrates the point. This kind of hassle we never see in games.. unless the heroes actually sleep with their gear on, and if they do, they should start getting a bit smelly after a couple of days of questing.

A bit smelly? If these fantasy worlds are anything like the Middle Ages they are modeled after, then they would be filled with an abominable stench. Just a random fact to illustrate this: There is this city on a lakeshore in Germany that has all streets running down to the lake. Only every second street was actually used for traffic, the other streets in between were where people dumped all their waste, from food leftovers to chamber pots. When it rained, all the filth was washed into the lake. If it didn't rain, there were people whose job it was to shovel the rotting mess into the water. Where do you think the plague came from? There are a multitude of accounts telling of people dumping their chamber pots out the windows onto the passers-by below, of people litterally wading through shit on city streets etc. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to notice if your hero had washed recently or not. A, and a propos washed bodies: when the vikings invaded Britain, they were very popular with the local ladies, because they washed once a week, while Β the celts only washed once every year or so.

Yeah, the concept of the picture is the brilliant thing. I have missed this kind of wondering. In fact I plan to include some portrayals like this in my book. At the moment I am working on an idea of doing something wrong in a book - so that it would have certain consequences that would make the characters to grow.
In some games they actually show the hero waking up with all the gear on (Grandia when Justin gets out to the grand world and works on a ship). In some games they wear a robe (Breath of Fire III I think). I don't remember any good examples where they would lay out the inventory like this.

Characters have been in bed with little clothes when being intimate with their lover at least in Ultima VIII The Serpent Isle and in The Witcher but I don't think those games showed any hassle with getting in and out of the gear.

I think in some games in the beginning you have to go around and gather stuff to your inventory from your room or some other place. I find that very thrilling.

Yeah with so much pieces of armor and clothes that fantasy heroes are usually wearing it's hard to keep the room clean

I figured the heroes wouldn't sleep wearing the armour because that'd be very uncomfortable and besides they have to change their underpants occasionally..

But on the other hand... heroes usually begin their adventure in some terryfying moment when they have to run away from a burning village or something like this. You think they have time then to take some additional underpants with them? Cause I've never read about them buying any in their journey
