Reposting with permission of the original artistAs the youngest shrine maiden, Koneko Mao was assigned to translate the O-mikuji (fortunes) for visitors. Before finding the correct divination book, she accidently used the Book of Changes becoming an actual maneki-neko, insuring that all vistors who met with her would be sure to gain some measure of good luck if they left a coin or two.
