Oooooh. Me likey. It's much better than the cover we got, it kinda looks like someone punched femshep in the nose and the swelling hasn't gone down. Just saying.

Also, your FemShep is ten times more beautiful than the anime-looking red head they finalized. Just saying....

Wow, nice work on the cover! I'm glad you're a fem Shepard fan as well, the voice actor for male Shepard didn't do it for me so I've played as fem. Shepard since the first one. But guess what, they're going to do a fem. shepard trailer for ME3 very soon, I can't wait!

They should totally make the ME3 with FemShep cover. ManShep has had too much publicty already. It's time to give FemShep some spotlight. Or let them share it at the very least.

okay not to be an ass but why female shepard? The one question I have for mass effect series in general. Every photo/video I look of mass effect 2 and 1 is always female shepard. I guess people do want to become chicks. Mostly talking to the guys who use female shepards. Grow the fuck up and stop living something that you ain't going to be unless you got a lot of money for a sex change.

As a male who has played female Shepards (Male Shepards, too; MaleShep, FemShep, BlackShep, WhiteShep, GayShep, BlueShep and even JewShep!)and enjoyed it, I feel like I should step in here. Here are some reasons why this "guys playin' as girls" phenomenon which you so dislike continues to propagate:
->Because many people perceive FemShep's voice actor to be drastically superior to MaleShep's and would rather not subject themselves to Mark Meer's stylings if it can be helped.
->Because FemShep gets cool exclusive dialog! Not all that much, but it's generally pretty cool when it happens.
->Because female heroes are interesting! Some folks like variety in their roleplaying, meaning that we aren't always just treating the Player Character as a personal wish-fulfillment fantasy version of ourselves (this is cool too, assuming that you are a cool person and thus that your wish-fulfillment fantasy counterpart is also cool) but as a unique character with their own motivations and aspirations, and there is a lot of variety you can pull off with gender roles.
->Because we admire the fact that FemShep manages to be a strong and formidable protagonist without being hypersexualized to absurd degrees, as is the norm for female videogame protagonists.
->Because some people are tired of the fact that seemingly EVERY protagonist in videogames - particularly shooters and action hybrids, and especially in sci-fi - is a grizzled, emotionally detached, be-stubbled Caucasian man whose primary character traits don't extend much further than grim determination and stoic resolve. That is a particular issue for me and a large part of the reason why I have five or six FemSheps lying around, and also why I have a MaleShep who a basically roleplay as a gay, happy-go-lucky Hindu cowboy with aspirations toward becoming a sculptor (also a cowboy), and another MaleShep who I roleplay as an excessively chivalrous Ethiopian blues-singer.

I am a woman. Though, I don't see why that matters and you should probably look in the mirror before you tell someone else to grow up.

Okay fine, my problem against this should not be on your picture. I just don't see what the big deal with the female shepard? I mean, its practically normal for a female to pick the female shepard but a male? I mean, I can understand some guys cause of them being a manwhore and all but most I see on profiles are nothing but males. I see it on youtube, here and the ETC. So again, sorry for even coming out with my questioning on your picture.

So if a guy playing a female Shepard is a "manwhore", does that make the females who play a male Shepard (like me) a "whore", then?
... Hey, someone had to ask.

I really don't have an explanation for it... I just find it stupid that some men out there play as a female shepard. Again, sorry for even saying anything to you. That part I had my head of my ass.

Maybe rather than spending your time coming up with preconceptions about people you don't even know, you could focus on enjoying the game for your own reasons and let others enjoy it for theirs?
A lot of players play both male and female Shepards - they're not trying to create idealised versions of themselves, they're just creating interesting characters. My main Shepard is female, and I'm quite sure I'm not a "manwhore"

Well I say good for you then. Some males aren't, and some are. I have just seen a lot of males playing FEM shepards and it kinda got to me with the thought of every guy who play the fem shepard is a manwhore. I will admit that I was wrong on that so no need to really continue of this well...I don't know how to name this. I would say sort of an argument.

Maybe they are 1. Secure in their masculinity and 2. Since there is so much FemShep fanart/media out there, I think that means she's super popular. Unlike the boring chest-pumping gorilla that is all over BioWare's official promotions.
Hmm...maybe? Maybe????

Well I can say that Male and female shepard are well equaled. Male Shepard is on most of the games and advertisments and such. Female shepard is on a most mass effect videos and picture on the internet. So again, there both equal.

At seeing this, I'm caught between feeling really happy and really sad, knowing that the markets won't ever use FemShep. Is our society really equal today when we have no futuristic female representative in our culture? I.e., when have you ever heard of a woman in the role of James T. Kirk? Stupid BioWare, throwing away your ideas like that.
