Another art piece I made for the fanfiction of "Borra: Ripples in the Water" made by moonlitinuyasha1985.

So far I like this episode because we get to see more insight depth of historical lore in the Avatar universe. For instance, in this scene we get to see Bolin and Korra privately swimming underneath the Spirit Oasis where Tui and La currently resides. Similar to Milo Thatch and Princess Kida in Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001), we get to see Korra and Bo swimming together to discover underwater ruins inside the Spirit Oasis while guided by a school of bioluminescent spirit fish that would help Korra in her understanding Harmonic Converge and the First Avatar, throughout Book Two.
So this image and the fanfic takes place between the episodes "Southern Lights" and "Civil Wars, Part 1" in Book Two. Overall, this is way before we get to meet Avatar Wan, but the fanfic shows little nuggets of the First Avatar. Honestly, I love it since for the first time, we get to uncover more areas underneath Tui and La's domain that would give the audience more depth of Harmonic Convergence.
I understand that Book Two, in general, was everbody's least favorite book in the Avatar Fandom. However, what the authors did, was somehow mesh idea of the first Avatar, Harmonic Convergence, and the tensions between the North and South without making it feel forced.
The design for the mural I wanted was to be Traditional Chinese-Oriented style, similar to the art murals depicting the past Avatars, while giving it a rustic, ancient feel, similar to the mural of the Avatars as shown in the second episode of ATLA, Book One: www.reddit.com/media?url=https…
Plus I added some texture, to give out the painting some wear and tear, since it was preserved underwater, but loses it opacity due to time and ruins underneath the Spirit Oasis.
I also added some background too just to give out some foreshadowing the like Tree of Time, shown behind on the far left. Overall, I am in love with this piece! Please let me know what you think of my designs!
