What a colorful page. I can't remember the last time I packed six relevant characters into one panel. XD
Okay, but being serious(ish), I know a lot of people were expecting Fara to come in and bring fury and rage down upon Kellen. It would've been too easy though, and too expected (and I don't want to feel like I'm promoting violence). Instead, have you ever gotten in SO MUCH trouble that your parents/teacher/whatever didn't yell... and somehow that was worse? They'd say something like, "I'm not mad. I'm disappointed." That's where Fara is.
That's kind of where everyone is, really. It's exhausting to argue with someone who doesn't listen. What's the point of fighting with her? They could present her with logic and reason until they're blue in the face, but it's only going to make her retaliate more. Sometimes the best way to shut someone up is to not fight back. Let them yell. Let them look and feel like a fool when they're the only one arguing.
Or take a page out of coolheaded Vincent's book, and be sweet as pie. Irrationally angry people HATE that. Especially when you "innocently" point out that their devious plan has utterly failed. XD

All Rain wanted was to make things right with her family. She gave them her heart and Aiken accepted. But when it came time to do what was right, Kellen did something worse than I could possibly comprehend. Rain wanted to let Kellen back into her family because they don't have much left. But in the end it was Kellen who pushed everyone away.
I'm not trans but I know one trans girl. She used to be a boy and I can't imagine what she went through. I hope that nothing like this ever happened to her. She is a great person and so is Rain.

Wow she got off easy. If someone had done such a horrible thing to someone I loved, they'd be spitting out teeth until someone pulled me off of them. And even then, I better never see them again for a good long time, like months, or even a year.
On the one hand, I really wish Rain never had to endure this, but on the other, I thinks it's really important to understand that you can try you're best and things may never work out if people aren't willing to work on it. It also says a hell of a lot to the credit of the writing and the development of the characters if a comic can evoke such a visceral gut reaction from me. This comic has really felt like I'm watching these people live and grow and develop like real people.

When I saw Rain with short hair from the previews a few months back on Facebook, it actually gave me an idea...
I'm not on HRT yet, and soon plan to be, but-- Cutting my hair short would be a nice timetable from when I do start HRT. I'm MtF, but I've always had long hair, grew it out for over 10 years, but it pretty much stunted at the bottom of my lower back for the last couple of years, and I ended up trimming it... So, I feel like cutting my hair would be a good way of changing things up, and perhaps looking more feminine... Buy, who knows?
I've also never really known what to do with my hair, so it's horribly messy and frizzy with lots of uneven strands, as I tend to wear my hair in a high, tight ponytail. Maybe simply wearing my hair down more often could be my challenge, instead..?
Whatever the case may be, I thank you for the inspiration for me and my plans for hair!

It was just a business card. Essentially, it has Vincent's name, work phone, email address, and place of employment written on it. This way, on the offhand chance that Kellen does take him up on his offer, she has a means of contacting him.

Well I have to say Aunt Fara's response is much better than screaming at her. There are times where being disappointed in someone is much more hurting and effective than a physical attack. Aunt Fara is almost like when your mom gives you that look, the one that's says I am disappointed in you, it doesn't even take any words to do it. It will hurt Kellen a lot more than a slap would. She might have just lost a lot of her family too. And Aunt Fara's part about it being up to Kellen for how long it last is very powerful too. Also I love Emily's face in the first panel it really is a "I am just sick of you" kind of look, or "I am just tired of all of this" really a great face for the situation.
Also how Vincent is saying good bye to Aiken who still doesn't realize who he is, I wonder if he does that a lot leaving a wake of mystery in path. I think Aiken will figure it out at some point though, I was still hoping that Vincent would tell them that he is trans too, but now I don't think that is necessary. And finally Vincent's comment is the final dagger when Kellen realizes her plan just totally blew up in her face, man Vincent really knows how to get to someone haha. And it is nice that Emily is there to help Rain too.

Kellen is a narcissist, I think that's pretty clear. She doesn't think too highly of herself, but she still demands that everything be her way and that everyone pay attention to her at all times. Fara seems very aware of this, and I think it's safe to say Kellen will not be calling her just to say hi anymore.

I would go as far as to say she's a narcissist, like a lot of people- she doesn't like what she doesn't understand, and she needs more social interactions than normal- unfortunately in this situation that doesn't work out too well

The reason I say she's a narcissist isn't because she doesn't accept Rain, but her reasoning behind it. even if she's not a narcissist Jocelyn has made quite a few hints since her first appearance in chapter 2 that suggest she is quite emotionally unstable, and she literally is incapable of seeing things from other people's point of view.

Can totally see Aiken picking up the card and handing it to her saying something like, "Uh, I think you dropped something." I liked the way you handled the confrontation between Fara and Kellen and loved Aiken's continued bewilderment over Vincent.

I just love that last scene. Vincent reminds me of me when I do customer service with a very angry customer who is already a lost sale. Very polite, but point out how stupid they are.

Yeah, I read some of your debates with Jocelyn. Most of the time, I am the one who cannot read the mood, but those discussions where you encouraged violent action were making her uncomfortable, to a degree that even I could pick up.

That does not mean you should hold on to hatred like that. It also doesn't mean you should force others to think like that either. Your anger is your own, but if you spread it with violence, then more violence will follow and more people will suffer. History has proven that a hundred time over. It is called a Cycle of Retaliation.

I know it's dumb, but my brain immedietly made that noise from Metal Gear whenever you are detected when I saw the explanation point by Kellan's head.

I'm really quite impressed with Rain here, actually. When Kellen calls out to the group, everyone but Rain turns toward her. In doing so, Rain proves how serious she was earlier when she told Kellen to never speak to her again. It was hard for her to do, as we see from panels 4 and 6, but it was still the right thing to do. If Rain had turned around and said anything, Kellen could have read it as validation for her actions and beliefs. So, best to let Fara handle things. And also Vincent, with a fantastic moment at the end. Incidentally, I wouldn't be surprised if Aiken took advantage of Vincent's generous offer to help (Aiken could always pick up the business card that Kellen threw away, after all).
As an aside, Vincent does have a point about short-haired girls, but long-haired girls are also the cutest. And medium-haired girls. And all girls.
