Description
As a counterpart to the Cro Magnon, here's a Neanderthal, a denizen of the Ice Age and among the most famous of all Hominins. Once thought to be lumbering hunched brutes, they are known today as a rather sophisticated culture that ultimately went on to contribute to the gene pool of modern humans. As with the Cro Magnon, I tried to be as authentic as possible with this depiction, with the only truly speculative image being the clothes (since while we're darned certain that they *wear* clothes, we have no evidence that Neanderthals could sew).

The clothes are basically a bunch of skins tied up with sinew, based on both the Walking with Beasts version of Neanderthal clothing and a few others found here and there on DeviantArt that follow the same logic; it's better than my original attempt , to be fair. Other details are indeed accurate to how Neanderthals were in real life, including the simple jewelry and the Mousterian style spearhead I included.

I nicknamed him "Andy;" in the short story I made featuring him, it's a Cro Magnon 's clumsy attempt at his true name in his own language, "Na'andin."
