I've been home sick for a few days and decided to use the time to practice a bit with watercolors. And what better way to do that than to paint classic Sonic? Especially since I've also spent these days playing Sonic 3 and Sonic Mania.

Usually I use inktense pencils when I use color in my traditional paintings. They are similar to watercolors but behave a bit different. They dry a lot quicker and colors blend with each other a bit differently. So it's been interesting to try watercolors instead.

This was based on an old pencil sketch I had made as the basis for this digital painting of Sonic, so now there's a pencil version, a watercolor version and a digital version of the same Sonic:
