Description Tonight's very quick experiment with DAZ Studio and Iray is with using only light emitting hair to light a scene. Β The idea was that it would act as a rim light.

Thank you, It's inspired byΒ www.deviantart.com/art/Sci-Fi-… . Β It was easier than I expected, you just set the same hair texture for the emission color and increase the luminescence.

I really like dynamic lighting in pictures. I'm trying to figure out how to do it.Β  This reminds me of disney's tangled when they where trapped in the cave filling with water.

Interesting. I never considered making hair emissive. When I first saw this, I thought you just had a bright light behind her. Great image.

Thank you, I saw this effect somewhere and had the idea that I could light a figure just using glowing hair

I've tried that before with a different set of hair, but your pic turned out a lot better. There's more to it than just a good idea ;D. Big like.

Thank you, the trick I used was to make two renders, one with the hair glowing and one with just regular hair. Then combine them in Photoshop to bring some of the detail back into the glowing hair

Thank you, I was wondering if I could use emissive hair to light a figure, it turns out you can

Can I ask what hair you used and how did you light it to get such a soft effect?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JoePingleton In reply to EJDM [2018-03-08 22:29:26 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, I used one of my old favorite hair products "Gregoria Hair". I cheated a little since this was my first attempt at making emissive hair by combining a render with the hair with the emissive shader and one with a blonde version in Photoshop.
