Edit: Oh! I just realized there wasn't a description here. I don't like that on a piece of photography, please notify me if I'm that lazy again. So, to correct this, here's one of my detailed comments from below that sums everything up...

Well... I didn't (get the cat to pose)... She just gazed at me when I walked by. I didn't see her at first, she was hidden behind the windshield of a wagon parked under the wall, I almost passed her by... But I dunno why, I turned my head and met her eyes... I went back around the car and shot her from different angles and she didn't move an inch... She only followed my lens with those striking eyes... left... right... left... I tell ya, I felt really uncomfortable shooting her. Like I was invading on her privacy or something. I could feel I wasn't welcome and walked away within 30 seconds of the first shot... Brrrr...

Her eyes are as you say striking, definitely. Just WOW. I'd feel a little uncomfortable too if she stared at me, but she's so amazingly beautiful nevertheless, amazing photo you took of her!

She is absolutely. .GORGEOUS.
But aren't all cats? They're such wonderful and curious creatures and they all have their own unique personality. I recently lost my cat after 17 years with her but looking at this really cheers me up because even though she's looking casual here, the way she's 'smiling' is reminding me a lot about my cat, I still love her dearly.
I have a thing for white cats really, something that represents the 'pureness' of them, maybe holy?
Wonderful piece, very, very wonderful.

This is a stunning picture. There's a lot to like about it. The cat's expression, and even though you say you didn't get it to pose, you did, the stark black background, and the gritty textured rock surface that the cat's is sitting on.

The only thing that bothers me is the blown highlights on the cats head, and seemingly different contrast in that area compared to the rest of the cat. It's just a minor nitpick from a perefctionist on an already stunning and great image.

Wow, thank you for such an insightful comment, I really appreciate it. I agree about the blown highlights, although that was somewhat intended. I love overexposing some parts of the photo to enhance the mood - this time I wanted to bring the focus immediately to the head, I think the eye naturally seeks out the brightest part of the image. Maybe I went a bit over the line, I dunno.

But I'm so glad you like it. Comming from an amazing photographer like you, this is a great compliment.

Thank you... I feel I'm pretty lucky to have had such a model. I'm glad you like the overexposed parts (the white between the eyes), I tend to use much overexposure in my photography, which is something that some people tend to interpret as a mistake.
