Yes it's British, from a photograph I took when visiting my daughter.

I like the mixture of colors you used in the sky and the water. The water appears to have a light sheen of ice on it, although it just may be my imagination. Still, for me it adds to the chilly feeling along with the man in his coat and stocking hat and the smoke from the heating fuel. 'Tis a nice painting.

I'm really pleased that you can tell the water has a film of ice on it, I wasn't sure that I'd managed to show that. I'm better than I thought I was.

Thanks. Yes I always have photographs to refer to for my landscapes, though of course they are just a starting point and I don't feel the need to stick close to them.
