though gotta say this is one of my favorite norse legends, it just has the feeling of a group of guys drinking in a long house during winter trying to think up a better story to one up their comrades "Thats nothing, this one time, In Asgard, Thor lost his hammer, and like, dressed up as a bride to get it back!"

As a viking I must point out that yes our religion have some fun stuff. It also holds many wonderful tales
But why the heck do Loke have elven ears. They are a Gods, not elves. That's about as weird as Marvels take on Thor. He looks like nothing in the movie as he is described in the old books.
A small bonus info about Loke and why he can change shape. He uses magic skins. When he puts them on he can be any creature he like, even a small flee.
But yes.. This story with him being the mother to a eight legged horse even trough he is male is one of the more told stories here as well

I thought they were ravens that had eaten the flesh of fallen soldiers in battle gaining magic powers (such as turning into a human) but losing the ability to fly until they eat a baby.

You know...it is an interesting myth, really.Β In order to successfully cheat, Loki distracts Svadilfari for a night, and that's all well and good.Β What I still find most interesting about this particular story is that Loki decided to carry the foal to term.
You think he could have just transformed back and forgotten all about it, but instead he remains long enough to give birth.Β What does that say about him?

That was a good one. Here where I live is there a comic book about the Norse Β gods in that one was it actually a mistake that Loki and the horse mated. But this one was funnier. Great comicΒ
