PLEASE READ! IT IS IMPORTANT TO THE PICTURE!The old stories tell of the fires that lasted for months... of the dessicated corpses which haunted the streets of the old cities for years; dead, but not knowing how to lay down and give in.
Of the babies, born wasted and wrong at the basest levels.
Of the sunlight that used to shine, before the tides of death washed over our world...
Sunlight. heh. There's not a lot of that these days. Just enough to give us a glimpse of the world as it might have once been.
Enough to keep the temperature warming more and more every day through the thick clouds. The clouds that just will not end...
Some days I wonder if it would have been better if no one survived at all.

FULLVIEW is HIGHLY recommended, or you will get no detail.
NOTE: This one, i think, is a personal best for me. It took a lot of work, a lot of sweat and frustration, but it came out exactly how I wanted it.
Feedback on it would be appreciated, either way, but god i love this one, and i SO BADLY hope you do, as well.

I like the dark shadows at the bottom of the picture... The touch of color (even if it's just earth-tone) against the black and white (grays!) is an excellent touch.... And her necklace... *makes sure no one's looking and snatches it*
I like the bit of text to go along with it, too. ^^ Fits the picture perfectly, even down to an almost thoughtful look on her face going along with the last part "Some days I wonder if it would have been better if no one survived at all."

i love her expression, and the lighting follows suit.
the only complaint or critism i could give you would be that that background and the woman seem...unreal together.
if you look at it closely in full view, the background doesn't...seem...right...
i don't know what to suggest.
blurring the background would make it softer, but it might make it look more unnatural.
blurring the woman...might not be such a good idea.
but it is up to you to decide, so
and once again, this is an amazing piece and you should be proud.

Actually I wasnt 100% satisfied with the background but by the time i really started to get unhappy with it, it was way late in the making of the picture lol
This one i'll be redoing at a later date, actually. I really LOVE how she came out, and want to do it justice lol

Lovely atmosphere, however the background IMHO is too desaturated compared to the figure. But it COULD be used to convey the lifelessness in the aftermath of the fire.

This is spooky and lovely - the lighting, the colors, the pose.. everything seems to relate back to and emphasize the mood. It's great! I agree with you wholeheartedly, also - the description is one of the most important parts. It makes the picture, I think. Do you have a prose account? Anything where I could read some more of your work? I've been looking through your gallery all day and the way your descriptions and pictures interact and complement eachother is absolutely brilliant. You're one of my favorite artists now! I'm so glad I found your gallery!
