I tired to go for a style I havent seen with the other avatar fanart. Since its important for Sokka to be a great warrior I went for the texture/parchment effect. Sort of as an emulation of ancient times where great wars and legends would be recorded on tapestry, where hopefully Sokka's endeavorers will one day past on as legend.
Ive included the Watertribe and White Lotus Society insignia to represent the different warrior aspects of Sokka.
Once again, comments and criticisms greatly appreciated!

And that's actually what had me stopping to admire this. That it's different from all the other fan art. I love the textures, the stance, the touch of separation between colors with a thin white line. The insignia seems to fit so well. The shadow, though, is what helps to really make this piece. Makes it a bit more dimensional but not over done like with the faded images you see in so many manga images today. It feels like a traditional artwork that you'd find hanging in the Ice palace.

Nice style, very different. I like to think Sokka (along with the rest of the Gaang) eventually joins the Order of the White Lotus after the show, so I'm really digging this.

This is a really excellent piece! It caught my eye because the texture and the mixing of the symbols, but what really sends it home--at least for me--is the pose. Everything is neat, crisp, original, and sturdy. And I love it.
