Remembering seeing this in Dragon Magazine, and loved it there. Especially love the design on the wand.

Huh? dragon magazine had an article on how warforged are fabricated? Would you happen to know how I could access it?

Reminds me of my character, who isn't a complete warforged, but a half-orc's brain (and eyes) in a construct. He makes other warforged like this...

Stupendous! Warforged making other warforged. Artists should depict this process more often.

Excellent piece, I was going to join a game with a Warforged who had distinctive female features.. but the game came to a hault when the GM moved to another state.

Wow, this is really amazing. Of all the things about Eberron I like the most is likely the aspects of 'higher' technology. That being artificers and the warforged. This one really grabbed my attention, bravo.

Thanks! Its mostly airbrush style brushes in Painter. I think there may be some oils on a layer with greatly reduced opacity.

I love the dry, dusty atmospehere you created. ^^ A curious question, about how many hours do you spend on a picture like this one?

Something like this takes maybe a couple of days. I tend to have multiple projects on the go, so I almost never work on one image beginning to end without a break. That does mean I rarely time things, but working freelance you have to maintain a certain pace to make ends meet! Some take a little longer, some a little less.

That still sounds like a lot. ^_^ I have a problem with spending enough time on my images, I rarely spend more than six-seven hours on a single picture. But on the other hand, I'm bad at adding enough background, so that takes away a lot of the work.

I think its something you can build up to (if you want to) - I certainly used to struggle to keep interested in pieces that took longer than a few hours. I guess when its something that's been commissioned you do have the help of a list of things that have to be in there. This one was pretty clear in the brief that it was a crowded workshop, and all the figures you see were detailed. So you pretty much have to do it!

I guess you're right. Lately I haven't been able to spend more than max two hours on any single illustration, but that's because I'm working on a game project, and I'm the only artist in the group. I've done 100+ different pictures in the last four weeks, and I'm still not done. I've improved a lot though, so except for the stress it's really fun to actually spend all my days doing almost nothing but drawing. ^_^

I've never liked warforged ones, they are a bit unreal.
Great managment of the colours, the light and details are really cool, awsome enviroment!
