Description Hi guys,
I hope you don't mind that I keep posting images of the Barrio guy as he evolves. I thought it would be cool for people to see how it is progressing. If you feel that this is boring or cluttering your box, just let me know

Here is an update of the whole lower body. Keep those comments coming!

wonderful. did you make the folds in the cloth very edgy on purpose?

Yes, but in the end with the texture and material they won't look so sharp.

I'm liking the in-progress pics. Just for curiousity, what're you rendering in?

For the moment, all I have shown are just realtime screen captures from Zbrush.

Ah! Couldn't tell from the blackness. do you combine multiple screenshots? or is there a way to export a capture of something zoomed in? sorry, I'm an idiot about it...

It's easy.
Set the document size to the double.
Press the AAHalf button on the right to display the image at half of the size with antialias.
In the texture menu press "Grab Doc", then press Export and save the image.

Sorry for the late reply. Wanted to keep this available til I touched zBrush again. thank you very much! I kinda jumped in without a parachute so it's the "simple stuff" I don't know about.

I actually had someone tell me about subobjects a couple days ago and I've been using them like crazy since. Ehh.. totally couldn't figure out how to initiate that. zBrush is so weird compared to other 3d programs...

LOL
Yes, it is weird at first, but then you get the hang of it and feels quite natural.
It is worth not quitting, I can assure you

oh no no no. Definitely not quitting zBrush. I love it. I just have to work through it's quirks.

for all the creases in his jeans, do you just do them all from imagination, or did you use some photo references to base yours off?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JoseAlvesSilva In reply to mr-womble [2010-07-22 22:11:16 +0000 UTC]

Actually it is a mix.
I have gathered photos of people wearing baggy jeans.
I analyze the wrinkles on the photos and try to apply them correctly to my model.

It's very nice man! But I think there is too much wrinckles on the left leg, hope you dont mind the critique!

JoseAlvesSilva In reply to IndieBD [2010-07-22 22:02:54 +0000 UTC]

Of course I don't mind the critique, that is why I am posting the work in progress
Do you mean his left leg or the leg on the left side of the image?
Sometimes the wrinkles look excessive at this stage but when you add the texture (which introduces some visual noise) and the correct material (with a lot less specularity than this one) it looks right

IndieBD In reply to JoseAlvesSilva [2010-07-23 17:20:07 +0000 UTC]

I meant the left leg of the character. But anyway, it's just something that caught my eye, nothing big, and anyway, I am sure the final result gonna be awesome like pretty much all your work!
