Description I'm declaring this my de facto Halloween submission.
Why?
Why not? Hamlet has a ghost. That's Halloween enough. Besides, this picture has a definite Halloween austere, if I do say so myself.
Depicted here is prince Hamlet receiving council from the ghost of his father, who is seemingly making Hamlet aware of the murder committed by Claudius, seen looking disconsolate, holding the poisoned goblet (the one with which he killed his brother, the king), and with blood-stained hands, which are notoriously synonymous with murder. To Claudius' right is Gertrude trying to make good on the hostile atmosphere, unaware of her husband's villainy.
"Something is rotten in the state of Denmark", indeed.
Yeah, and I don't claim to know anything about 15th-century Danish fashion, so spare me any such lectures regarding discrepancies in character dress.
Ultimately, I kinda feel this picture is flawed. The ghost is not nearly transparent enough- something I screwed up while assembling the characters over the backdrop. Also, I feel like I did a pretty lousy job shading Gertrude's dress. Feel free to leave me a critique and let me know what you think.

I really like this, as Hamlet is one of my favorite Shakespearean tragedies. You can really see the family resemblance between Hamlet's father and uncle. I also love the you incorporated the blood on Claudius' hands. I think you portray the overall feeling of Hamlet well, although, I do wish that Ophelia would perhaps be present, but that is an idle wish because she's my favorite character. I would give this a solid 8 out of 10.

I didn't really feel like she fit. To convey the portions of the story I was trying to detail, I felt it better to incorporate only the characters present in this image. Appreciate the input, all the same.

You absolutely did not sound pompous, my friend. I appreciate real comments and insight rather than the type of comments I usually receive.

I know what you mean, it can be annoying, especially when you just want good feedback to tell you how you're doing.
