Description
Slowpoke are known as the 'dumb' pokemon.

They have some of the slowest reaction times in the pokemon world. They do not feel pain for a long time but this is now seen to be a quite effective defence mechanism.

if they are attacked they do not feel pain but can sense the danger and even though they usually tend to move very slowly they can move and incredible speeds when facing a threat.
The pain does not slow them down and it is only when they are in a safe place that they can nurse their wounds.

saying this they havnt got many natural predators, the main one actually being early settlers of humans, who found them an easy meal but not knowing that much of their body is comprised of fat.

Slowpoke live most of their long lifetimes (up to 40 years) bathing in warm shallows or fishing with their tails.
They secrete an oil from their tails which attracts small fish and crustations. When they start to nibble on their tail (which sometimes take a slowpoke a long time to realise) it lifts its tail and snaps up whatevers on the other end.

When they feel it is time to evolve (near the end of their life) they walk many mile down streem to the ocean where they fish for Shellder. The oil in the tail acts as a catalyst to an alternate evolution to the shelder, they then adapt to a symbyotic realationship. The Shelder provides balance to the Slowpoke so its front hands are free to do more complex moves, and the Shellder lives off the oil.
