I got a wacom tablet recently and I am so addicted to it now. I could never go back after getting that pen. You wrote helpful advice is good. Here eyes are spaced to far. 5 eyes across is the general rule. She needs shadow under her chin. Her shoulders are a bit to broad. Her hair looks slick. I noticed the heart has a light source, but the light is not present anywhere else. the light it left lower, so focus on all her left areas, and somewhat left areas with a lesser degree of light. Would it offend you if I borrow the picture and highlight what I mean. I do not wish to offend. We are all students in life. I am 40 myself.

This is several year old now. I was quite pleased when I did it but now see so many things wrong.
All of what you mentioned plus the disturbing skin tones.
Humans are so hard and I really need to develop my skill there.
I have saved your example for when I do revisit this
At this point it think its better to move forward and learn from past mistakes.

Srsly? You done it with a touchpad? Wow, it's amazing. I don't like even browse websites using the touch pad, not to mention the fact that I couldn't draw anything using this.

That is funny, it’s really not as hard as people think.
For Christmas I got a tablet so that is what I use now.
It is a lot more fun.

The overall proportions are not bad. But I see some issues with your rendering. The feeling for the volume is missing (lot of life drawing might help there) and you could work on your colours. Greyish shadows tend to look muddy and dead. Colourvariation brings you much further. And don't be afraid of hard edges. Features have them. You can bring the nose and the lips more forward, define their shapes more. I know it's long way, but studies help! Take a look at references, paint what you see, try to get colours and shapes right. There's so much to learn from it.

As for colors, I am color blind and that is an issue I am working on.
You mentioned greenish shadows for example
I wasn't aware they were there, so I have been trying to work on that.
As for features, I see what you mean, going forward I will try to do better there.
Right now I am stuck with lack of inspiration for something new,
when an idea sets in I will work on all your advice.
I know I have a lot to still learn, and it’s sooo slow to happen.
