Description One more rendition of my characer, Baron Ros. Who is he? Where does he come from? Well, I could say, but I won't. If I reveal his true identity and his history, I'd blow the lid on some other stories that are in the mix. Let's just say for now he's an explorer on a mission, and as for his history, well, he's been around the block and back. Enough said. Here he's a bit reflective, pondering the same questions I posed above. Location: Core City, Venice, prepping for voyage to Orion.

Vaganza ship in the background is an object made by , for our Extrasolar universe of pics and stories.

M4 with ++ morphs; Nano Suit by Xurge3d; modeled in Poser 7 and exported to Vue.

Rendered in Vue 8 using Panavision dimensions.

Hi! Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm so glad you like it. The "spaceport" is actually the GIS Project [link] from Daz. It's been used a million different times before, so I wanted to give it a different angle and also made it a spaceport (I think it's supposed to be an observation deck, actually), as well as modified the materials. I'm not so skilled yet with modelling to create on my own. I'll get there one day...

You did a great job with the angle and textures here. I know the model, but I would've never recognised it here - well done!

Personally, I think there's nothing wrong with using premade content like the GIS Project, especially when you tweak it to your liking and use different textures etc., like you did. But you certainly gain more creative liberty when you can build models of your own, so I'll keep an eye on what you'll come up with in the future.

That dude is a good looking sun-of-a-gun! I just started reading the story and I'm taking it slow and easy so the characters will dig into my mind. It's so exciting to find out how everything fits together! This is a great piece Ryan! Love it!

Hey, thanks so much Lars! Originally this was in space with a planet in the background, but I couldn't get the lighting quite right. So I made a little more atmospheric. Yeah, I love BjΓΆrn's new ship. They're becoming more streamlined.

So you had your detective snap this picture yes? It's so awesome! You mastered DoF and realism in this render Ryan, spot on! It is simply stunning! I can just hear BjΓΆrn squeel when he saw it too, personally, I did a "holy shit!" LOL Amazing work Ryan!

Thank you very much! You know, I thought of that after it was - it looked like one of the PI photos. It actually kind of works for the story.

I had "FUCK YEAH" in the caption originally but then took it out, in regards to the Panavision size.

Just curious how this Panavision looks on your temporary itty-bitty monitor?

Everything looks sucky on this itty bitty shitty monitor LMAO but.... They loaded the new one on the truck today so we might get it! It is supposed to be even better than the 22 inch.. and I LOVED the 22 inch. It had such a pretty view picture.. Johan also found out how to possibly fix that one, so we can keep it as a backup if he can find the part. Either way, I'm coming back to view this on the new monitor :-P I'll holler at ya if it does come in.

I envy you in your work. It's important to find work that is fulfilling and something that brings joy to us.

I agree with you. This is my hobby and there's nothing to stop me, and I'm thankful to have the means to do what I do now. Sure, the top programs are pricey, but it gives me something to work towards. I will find a way to get them, or maybe they will find their way to me.

And yes, wouldn't it be nice to be paid to do this? Certainly it can happen. Another goal to work towards! Ah, how lovely!

angelitoon In reply to jrmalone [2010-08-19 13:19:53 +0000 UTC]

The programs are very expensive. You can not have everything you want.
I, fortunately I have the licenses because I have a company that pays me. And I have many licenses. The trouble is that I can not always continue to upgrade and some other I've lost along the way ...

Courage. At the end of one way or another you get where you want

I have another character that's kind of the same: introverted and always thinking. I think it's a bit of myself projected onto them (mentally speaking that is; certainly not the physical part! lol) I really do enjoy having the ability to create images to accompany the stories. It's how I got into this artwork in the first place, so FINALLY I'm getting back into the writing more. I need all the practice I can get.

Yes, here's to a shiny future, with lots of eye candy!

Well for what little it is worth if you and BjΓΆrn ever want editing services, you know where to find me (presume you got my email response a while back). Your writing stands up very well, also

I think every writer either consciously or unconsciously puts some of themselves into the characters... albeit some turn their characters into Mary Sue's due to too much of that.
