You're welcome. Thank you for letting me use more of your artwork as reference, if I do use it. I'll make sure to put a link in the description to the artwork and your page. I was just wondering, when I put the link in the description to your page, did you get a notification saying I put it there? I just want to know, because if you did not, then next time I will leave a comment of the artwork, letting you know that I used the image as reference.

I think if you just post the link it doesn't notify me, but if you tag me using @ in front of my user name then it definitely will let me know in my stacks. It's okay though if you don't remember, and I don't mind you using at all -- it's more for my curiosity to see what you came up with.

2. do you have a question what never askd befor by someone here you like to answer?

jrmalone In reply to darknie222 [2011-11-08 03:01:10 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much!

I got the idea for this from the "Extrasolar" project I'm working on with my friend . The "Orbitals" live in this rocky hive since their planet was hit by an asteroid. This particular scene is just a concept image and isn't a direct illustration of a particular story. We're in the process of writing and collecting all of our short stories for this project into one big collection.

Our story chronicles the results of the Exodus project, which left Earth in three large interstellar ships to colonize three separate star systems (Delta Pavonis, Epsilon Eridani, and Orionis Pi3); we mainly focus on the Orionis system, but will tie in the other two colonies as well (there are many, many layers to this story). The Orionis system is ripe with habitable planets and moons, but beyond the asteroid field there is something not so friendly. They refer to it simply as "The Threat", and they may or may not have caused the asteroid incident which destroyed planet Demeter and forced the colonists of that planet to reside in orbiting platforms (such as this image).

I've often thought to make an interior scene of this place. I might just do that at some point. I don't have any scenes depicting the interior.

Thank you for your interest! Please check out my partner's images as well as my other Extrasolar images to get an idea of our universe and our characters. Let me know what you think!

Also, check out this little animation I made, which gives a little more detail of what happened: [link]

And the original animation for the Exodus: [link]

i have some more things to say:
1. you the first one i know who know how to make a good sci-fi story without a war with allot of chaos
2. for some reason i have the feeling your mind is very peacefull while thinking about making an story. mine is not, (just totaly chaos to make something).
3. i sure will tell you what i think about it
thank you for a claires reply and sucses with your futered work.

jrmalone In reply to darknie222 [2011-11-08 20:38:51 +0000 UTC]

Oh my, I'm very chaotic in my writing (and my mind is a total chaotic wreck! haha). My biggest issue is forcing myself NOT to edit as I go. I find that it is better to just pour out the words no matter how bad or awful it is, then go back later to edit. Otherwise I get caught up in the editing process while I'm trying to write, and the two do not mix well for me.

We don't have too much war or space battles, but there is some conflict of course -- no sci-fi story would be complete without it! I can't go into details, but there are bad things in the works in the universe we're creating. Very, very bad, which should be great fun to write!

Thank you again for the kind words. Feel free to send me a note any time. Best of luck with your story!

thank you for answer, the watch, and for wiching me sucses, your right with "but there is some conflict of course -- no sci-fi story would be complete without it" but i dident had time to see that all and you just make a macnificent way of peace in a sci-fi story, that maybe was why i was thinking (together with your youtube channel) you mind was calm, however, sucses with futerred work

I thought more of the station parts were used from refined elements that were drilled out of the core. The ships could have been too. Didn't really put much thought into that. Thanks for looking!
