Welcome! You have great skills!
But if I might have a word I would suggest to forget about any sort of competition with CGI. This is a totally different medium with different approaches and goals on how to illustrate things. Traditional art or even digital painting to me is about colors, tension without too much details, it is painterly not photorealistic if you know what I mean. I don't see a point in trying to get into CGI-like photorealism with traditional mediums - but one can set this as a personal goal anyway.
So no matter what you do, have fun!!
