PERSONALITY

Manik was once a happy and playful cub but he has buried that part of himself. He's very closed off and doesn't talk about himself. If you ask him about family he'll clam up. He avoids his family because he thinks he doesn't deserve them. He doesn't joke around. He doesn't have a good self image and hates looking at himself. He holds himself to impossible standards and beats himself up on the inside when he doesn't meat them. He can be quite snappy when he's tired which is often. He has trouble sleeping and sleeps best when it's daytime. He avoids other cats and prefers being on his own. He listens when someone speaks to him about their problems but would never tell them about his. He is focused on training and rarely does much else. He doesn't ever show mercy to empire cats. If he had the chance he would kill every empire cat he came across.

He is terrified of letting down others and often feels like he has. He has a fear of fire and smoke. He's always looking over his shoulder making sure he can't be sneaked up on. He doesn't trust others. He is always thinking about what if they really just hated him? What if they were secretly with the empire? What if they needed to be protected and he couldn't do it? He's often filled with anxiety when he's with others

Manik was the result of a business breeding between a cougar named Kadar and a caracal named Alexandrite. The cubs were mainly raised by Kadar, his mate, Serval, and a cat named Honey Locust. Alexandrite and her girlfriend, Ying Yue, often visited and Manik grew up close to all of his parents. Manik was always less of the leader of the group and more of the... bodyguard. He was always there to look out for his siblings and make sure they didn't get hurt or caught up in any trouble.

Manik tried his best to try to protect his siblings but he couldn't stop what was to come. First his mother was moved out of the city by humans. Then Ragnarok came. The city burned. His leg was broken and his father was attacked. It was agonizing to watch his father fade away. His other father serval went missing. He knew who was to blame for all of it. The damned empires. They were all that was wrong with this world. They had destroyed his home. Killed his father. Killed so many others. He wanted nothing more then to go after them but because of the fire and his broken leg he had a long recovery. And after that he got sick for a while. Over time more and more of his family slipped out of his grasp. Some of his littermates left him one way of another. He was full of hate for the empire but also himself. How could he not have prevented any of this? Why was he so weak? Why did no one want to stay with him.. Once he was feeling better he decided it would be best to throw himself into his training he didn't deserve to rest and neither did those empire cats. He'd make them pay.
