This anime fanart was based off the The King's Mistress. The character is supposed to be Ayame of the anime Inuyasha. I called Ayame a courageous beauty because that is how I saw her in TKM. She was courageous and beautiful in that she continued to love and support the man (Kouga) she loved despite him loving someone else (Kagome).

I particularly liked the fact that dolphingirl0113 gave Ayame a substantial and credible personality in her story than what was given to Ayame in the anime. I have read too many fanfics were Ayame isn't given her just due in which she is so often made into a jealous maniac or bimbo that only serves to get on Kouga's nerves. The King's Mistress was a fresh look into what Ayame's character should have been (at least in my eyes) a courageous beauty that has a soul similar to Kagome's.

Anyways, I hope my fanart shows this. I can say that I worked hard on it, I had worked on about three different versions of Ayame with the first two not coming up to my standards. I am not 100% happy with the third version either but it was the best out of the possible three.

I put the picture up at the request of my younger sisters and as a promise to my good friend Megan that I would put it up.

The pic was done in prismacolor pencils which took over a week to finish coloring. This picture makes it painfully obvious that I am NOT good with backgrounds. At least I tried.
