Hey I've been looking through your work and really like it,recently I've been trying to create lowpoly models with some success, but can you explain what you did when you said you decreased the details to save poly count?

Hi...Thanks....save poly by not modelling the fingers completely...merge the fingers you won't need that much...like toes...i rarely model toes....hahaha

So I gave your tutorial a try for a few hours, 3d modeling is hard work, might resume or redo this project later.
I got my model to follow the reference sheet quite well from feet to shoulders, but she look a bit square-ish.
I tried pulling some of the vertices to make the shapes more round, but it didnt look that good.
Also, I couldnt understand how to make the chest or arms, so I used the knife and then extruded a ten-edged shape, difficult to deal with.
Otherwise, great tutorial series, I just lack some necessary skill

do you think you'd be able to make a video tutorial? I like this tutorial but a video tutorial would allow many to see the in between steps. though still a great tutorial by the way.

how do you get the body like that? (the basic shape you start with) cuz Ive been trying to do that, but i cant make it look like that..

all i do is start with a box...add edge loops...and follow the reference....

How do you navigate around this program? Like zooming in, paning and rotating around the model.

center click = rotate
ctrl centerclick/scroll = zoom
shift center click = pan

Hi! Some people have told me that it's bad to use triangles so I've been avoiding, but it just makes modelling that much more of a hassle by trying to make everything a quad, do you think it's okay to use them? I think it may be more or less of a debatable topic when it comes to topology.

...hmm...for me...it depends on which part of modelling are you aiming...to game models(usually low polys) or render models(usually high polys)...for render models, i guess its better to avoid triangles for better flexibility and flow of the model...for game models, it will always end in triangles so why avoid triangles...that's what i've observed...haha

Thanks for your input! With modelling, I really only intend it for lowpoly game models, but I always get mixed messages about whether it's okay to use triangles or not. I haven't really gotten to work with triangles yet, but it does make it easy for me to keep a lower face count so I will try this out for myself.

where did you stop the plane bend, at the earline?

hmm...usually i put space between, the next one would be at the earline...
