Description
"At the edge of Dis, the capital of Hell, lies towering layers of wall that enclose the entire city. The cyclopean construct also acts as a dam and aqueduct, apart from a defensive structure, which channels the flow of one of Hell's five rivers, supplying blood to Dis' maddeningly-sprawling city complex that covers an unimaginably vast amount of area, which continues to grow with each passing eon. Since the rivers do not diminish in volume and strength despite attempts to subdue them with infernal machines build by the Fallen, the unconquerable nature of the rivers can only be channeled and then released back, which is why the outer walls of the dam are pocked marked with countless outlets, vents, and flood gates, to purge excess blood out from the city, into an abysmal yawning chasm that goes far deep below. Due to the immense power of the river flow, the walls themselves are reinforced with powerful glyphs and other forms of powerful magic, to prevent it from collapsing from the sheer force of the flow. The dam itself is technically a living organism, which changes and adapts to its environment. As the city grows, so does it. It is long known that giant serpentine worms inhabit the inky depths of the chasms outside the dam walls, violently rending any soul or demon that falls into the depths. Some speculate that there's an unnameable horror lurking in the darkness of the chasm, from which these horrifying creatures proceed from; perhaps one of the many old gods that inhabit Hell before the arrival of the Fallen."

You're really one of the few who actually care about the City of Dis mentioned in Alighieris Commedia, which is more or less nowadays seen as a sidenote. Really great work on that amazing piece of art.
