Nyx is a Greek goddess of night,
and gave birth to a lots of other gods, mainly disaster ones.
I made her as a expected mother with a tranquil smile of love,
b/c all the children should be loved whatever their nature is.
all the children should be loved.

Even coming back to this submission to this day still gives me a warm feeling, it was her maternal glow and her purple attire that drew me to her so long ago, and to know this illustration still conveys such emotions makes it indeed timeless

Nyx was before the Titans-remember Titans are the gods born from Gaia, Nyx is born from Chronos (Time) she is a Protogenoi (One of the Gods that are Elemental, like Gaia and Ouranos) She is the night, while her husband (Erebus) is Darkness.

Motherhood shouldn't be an obligation. Some women just aren't cut out to be mothers and said women should be allowed to remain childless if they so wish.
That's the only way to avoid unwanted children.

Wonderfull work many rarely tend to draw her like this showing that beside being a goddess of great beauty and power also a mother who probably addored all her children as they did her as we could see when Hypnos searched for safety in her presence from Zeus, this was not something we saw by the other gods that they actually went to they mother/father for protection.
So in all I really love the picture about her as a pregnant mother who can't await the birth of her child and doesn't care what they powers will bring for the future she only cares that the child she bears should be happy and loved.

Love this! Nyx was also very protective...when her son (thanatos I believe) angered Zues and ran to her for safty...not even the god king wanted to get her angry.

You are amazing artist and I love your work. The fact that you are Japanese is something I already love because my great-grandmother was Japanese. She was born in Osaka, Japan and came here during World War 2, the bombing of Pearl Parbor because she married an African-American, French solider. She changed her name to Susie, which was at first Hashimotto Fumiko and gave birth to two kids, Laura and Aki. Her mother and father were samurai and were part of a higher class. Right now, I'm trying to learn the language (japanese) and have been pogressing. I have learned some from my great-grandmother but she always so busy, she never really had time for me. Anyway, story of my life

Totally agree with the sentiment. Anyway, nature and nurture are both important. Children need to learn to love by being loved.
