"Prince, stop turning back. There's nothing left for us there." Seagrass spoke softly to Lumin who looked back at the road for the nth time since they escaped Hippogriffia's borders.
"I- I know... I'm still going to miss it... it's all i've known..." Lumin's ears folded down.
Seagrass adjusted the hoof Lumin wore and sighed, "It's ok to be scared but we need to get going... I have an old friend whose going to help us get to Canterlot and settle in the country side. We'll be much better off there. Trust me, Prince."
"If we're in hiding you can't call me Prince anymore, Seagrass. You need to call me Lumin.. but they might know that name..."
"How about Luti (Lu-tie)?" Seagrass suggested, "Your sister uses the first two letters of her names, maybe if she ever looks for us in the future she'll recognize it?"
"Luti.. sure I like that name." Lumin nodded.
"Ok Luti, let's get going. We need to get to Manehatten as soon as we can." Seagrass started walking again.
"Yes Seagrass," Lumin smiled at the new name, it was strange to hear Seagrass call him something other than prince. He looked back one last time, 'I hope they got my letter..'

Sweat dripped from Gardenia's body and face. Her magic wavered in waves as she panted. She's been training tirelessly for her duel with Nina, it was coming up quicker than imagined. She knew she didn't have strength on her side, she focused on her magic and speed instead. She had duels with the unicorn guards and races with the others. She ate and listened to everything Nebula told her to do. She would be lying if she said she wasn't nervous, she was terrified. Gardenia knows her history, she knows how bloodthirsty and cruel Sombra is, no doubt in her mind that Nina wouldn't be the same. She worried, this was her first fight. She wished she could remember what her father used to tell her about fighting, but it's slipping her mind. She wished she paid more attention when her mother taught her defense spells and shields. She wished her brother was in his right mind to help her learn, he always made it easy to learn new things. She hopes luck will be on her side. On the last day of preparation, she sat before her parents' grave, asking for protection, for luck, for strength, she hoped they were smiling upon her, she could be the one to finish this stupid fight between the kingdoms and let her parents be at peace. She went before her mentor's grave and asked for forgiveness, Mist mane never praised violence, but Gardenia didn't have a choice in this matter, she hoped she'd understand and give her strength as well. Tomorrow would put Gardenia to the test, the realest test that no one would wish to go through. How will she fair?

In the other kingdom. cheers were heard in the courtyard.
"Princess Nina has won once more!" The head guard called out.
Nina hovered above her fallen opponents, she was out of breath but still composed as she came down to the ground. Turning to the generals who praised her, only a few criticisms.
"Who cares about my form? Will it be enough to defeat that Empress?" Nina drank some water as she waited for an answer. When no one responded she flared her wings and asked again more sternly.
"Of- of course, your highness.. Everyone knows that Empress Gardenia is weak and fragile, you will surely beat her and win this duel for Seaquestria and Hippogriffia." One finally spoke up, the others following.
"Silence. I don't want this petty sucking up." Nina glared, "When I'm the Queen, I won't tolerate you shining my hooves, I want capable and strong comrades."
"Yes of course, your highness! We will prove ourselves to you when the time comes!" "Yes yes, your highness!" "We'll be loyal as well!" "Don't worry, your highness!" "We understand!" "We await your command then!"
Nina took her armor off, "Someone clean this for me, make sure it looks perfect for tomorrow." As Nina walked away, "I will not disappoint father."

Ah man this is just hype for the big duel but im worried I won't write it well enough XD I also have no idea how im going to draw it ahhhh

Also things will be moving on pretty fast meaning we will most likely forget about Lumin and Seagrass for a while to focus on the main part of this chapter, though if you'd all like to see how they fair in their new home let me know! I can definitely do a lil something on the side for them because i love em lmao
