One consistent criticism I get is apparently I only draw emo looking elves XP I swear this is not my intention like its not my fault the Silmarillion is so fraught with tragedy. Anyway here's a Beleg Cuthalion, who is actually one of my favourite elves and I can't believe it took me this long to draw him.Related content

I don't see why anyone would object to emo looking elves if they look this good! He's gorgeous, and closer to how I imagine Beleg should look than any drawing I've ever attempted of him!

And that's what makes Beleg's story all the more tragic, yes? Like Huan, like Finrod. They get caught in the fates/stories/ doom of others, when they might otherwise have been safe and happy and lived much longer. They choose loyalty/friendship/love/honour, and die for it. That's why I love them so much!!!

Exactly, right? Because of who they are, they would never make any other choice. And I love them so much more than the actual protagonists in the tales for that.

Haha when I was reading Beleg's tale I started off going hey I love this character and in the end I'm like T T And somehow the memory of that tragic end carries on stronger than his actual characterisation lol

I got my (now) exboyfriend a bunch of Tolkien books for christmas once.
but they did not contain the maps, so I hand-copied mine for him.
Tolkien books are never complete without the maps...

Omgosh yes and I can't wait to have a place of my own so I can splurge on all of the Tolkien books and take up a whole bookshelf just for everything Middle Earth related lol XP
