Description Here you have our wonderful planet (left image) from when it was first made all the way up until 2319, beautiful world ain't she. By the year 2140 the world had fallen apart economy wise because of massive wars that torched the planet. It wouldn't be until 2200 before all the wars stopped. The sky was torched so badly that it became burnt orange for a number or years. All the major conflicts between religion, and just plain old human nature left a massive dent in the population of the human race. Once the major countries of the world decided to stop and take a look at their world they decided it was time to stop the foolishness.

But the damage would not be mended that easily. With all the wars stopped and the planet slowly regaining it's composure the United States along with Japan, China, and most of Europe decided to search for new life on another planet. The Bothan's from the Polaris system lent a hand in the project New Hope by supplying Earth with a ship no bigger than a 747.

24 randomly selected people were sent into space on March 26th 2300. The long wait was because earth's atmosphere was so contaminated that no one could see more than two feet in front of their face at 1000 feet off the surface. It took about one hundred years for all the crap to be cleaned out of the atmosphere.

By the time of the shuttles launch, the world had regained a god chunk of it's population and cities were starting to bustle again. A new form of currency, the Federon, was instated since it was being widely used throughout the galaxy. Earth payed off the money owed to the Bothans and launched the project with high confidence.

The shuttle landed at its destination; A planet found by an earlier launched satellite that had the exact same atmospheric conditions as earth. It was only four days away via light speed. It would be ten years before a the planet, now known as Second Earth, would make contact with Earth. The ape people from Arc Prime would help the settlers put up their first communications array.

Over the next five years many neighboring star systems, Earth included, sent settlers to set up a government and boost the population. Fernando Barkov, took leadership and started to form a sound government using Earth laws along with newer ones that he felt would work better.

However Second Earth lost contact with Earth around 2315 due to the communication array failing. The planet was in its infancy and it was going to be an estimated ten to twenty years before it would be able to mass produce tech. So Second Earth sat in the dark for a few years.Earth however had a major conflict brewing, and the citizens did not even know about it.

Around 2318 a Christian man awoke one morning and started running around screaming that Jesus was coming in two years. The man said that Jesus, came to the him in a dream and told him this. Well naturally word got out, and people started to see the news spread across the globe. Aside of all the other old problems that were resurfacing the last thing people wanted was a religious war outbreak. Good news for them, they weren't going to get one. Bad news, they weren't going to like the solution either.

2320 came around and so did the anticipation for the "Christs" arrival. Well this is what Earth got. The planet on the right. Charred broiled and coated with the blood of nearly every citizen.

Jan 3rd 2320, the Veraxo invaded Earth to expand their empire. They took cities by the hour and nations in days, ripping people to shreds limb by limb and leaving them to die. In about a month an a half Earth was surviving with a little over one million earthlings spread across the globe. It wouldn't be until 2350 that Earth would be liberated and turned into what Second Earth had become.

nawwww, its not gonna be war, instead, its gonna be because of Aliens taking over the world, or maybe some huge plague in Africa that spreads into India, east asia, and the pacific.\

Well since this is over 3 years old the way this plays out has actually changed many times in my head. A friend of mine and I have actually pieced together a better story than this and it does have to deal with an alien invasion tearing the planet apart rather than a war on the planet. A plaque before 2100 may be a possibility but after 2100 it's highly unlikely with the Galactic Trade Market open on Earth remedies for a whole bunch of diseases were purchased from Alien and human hybrid races.

That's a rather depressing story. I kinda like it though. Very interesting ideas. I'm just glad I won't be around for it if it really did happen.

The right image reminds me of Mars, which also might have had continents, oceans, and the like
billions of years ago, according to science

Yeah it does sort of look like Mars. Yup, according to science Mars was much like Earth.

Just search on Wikipedia for terraforing and you'll see some pretty good renderings of what Mars looks like with water and vegetation

See, this is why Star Trek was so darned ground-breaking when it came around. Up until that time the only sci-fi out there was bleak, depressing, and dark, like this. Star Trek gave an optimistic view of the future; that mankind would rise above its imperfections and create a wonderful future.

I must say that I like Star Trek's optimism much better than this over-done "pessimistic future" idea.

That's exactly what mankind did, this is only earth's future. This does not tell the history behind Second Earth the planet colonized by earth humans. Also this only covers up to 2320 it mentions 2350 when earth was retaken by the military from Second Earth. Also this does not say anything about Second Earth, by 2350 the BHA which was set up on Second Earth. The BHA had at that time over 70 star systems in the Alliance. Most were of alien species not from human decent. It wouldn't be till after 2360 when the final enemies were driven from earth that the reconstruction project would begin. Mankind's future was put in jeopardy but mankind overcame the loss of one planet to create a new and more powerful one, which eventually expanded into a vast empire.

Very nice work, this is touching and frightening at the same time. You should write a book! The theory you made could even be possible in some ways. But, the pollution in atmosphere, that you could see only couple feets away, unrealistic. If there was so much pollution, all people would just choke to death.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

K1092000 In reply to CityLover [2007-04-24 22:41:18 +0000 UTC]

Well it's not really all pollution. I realized that after I wrote this but have been too lazy to update it. There is the large scale wars that happened, which threw dirt and such in the air, but it should mostly be in the air space rather than on the ground. Also that factor probably shouldn't have lasted as long as it did since during the break when earth was sort of put back together, until the Veraxo came, large ordinances were made to clean up the air.

BTW, where did the water go?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

K1092000 In reply to CityLover [2007-04-24 22:45:41 +0000 UTC]

Evaporated via the heat from all the large Veraxo ships, a good majority was taken to be used in the Veraxo ships for soldiers, coolant, and various other things. Not all was taken though a lot of that are the orange colored clouds as the planet's still getting rid of some of the pollution left from the Veraxo ships, they're not known for using clean fuels.

Anyway awsome job

K1092000 In reply to TBR2 [2007-01-05 03:53:07 +0000 UTC]

Nah you didn't have anything to do with it. It was overpopulation, bad economy from importing too much an an unexpected invasion before the Veraxo.
That's not an ice age, that's actually the remnants of all the pollution, dust, dirt, and explosives that went off, and it's all stuck in earth's atmosphere. Just after they managed to cleaned it too.

TBR2 In reply to K1092000 [2007-01-05 21:26:29 +0000 UTC]

you see it was a joke, from BF:2142. A Ice age happens it 2134 from the north pole and go's down the side of Russia and parts of Europe when they think they would live thought hte ice age in africa. so They start a war for africa. see?

Ah I see, but I'm sure even after the war is won there will still be people on earth anyway. But of course the game has nothing to do with my empire anways.
