I adore this image. So much. If the gun itself were colored, this would perfectly fit what I envision for a character in a story I'm working on.

Very cool concept and you did really well on the rainbow discharge. It looks like smokey magic of some kind. Maybe it makes your enemy into a friend instead of killing them? One thing though that I would have done different would be to try to change the lighting on the gun to kind of reflect the discharge. Overall the lighting on the gun seems to be a tad off with that void of black behind it. Though I realize you used a black background to eliminate the possibility of distracting elements.
