Woah... its been a while since an upload... feels good
So this is yet another attempt at the 'speedpaint' style- I still kinda suck, but we're getting there. gradually. veeery gradually.

I've looked a bit over your other speedpaints. This one has a nice feel to it and the lighting looks gorgeous. I wouldn't mind seeing you work a bit more on this and add more detail.

Are you using custom brushes for speedpainting? I saw several speedpainting tutorials on dA and most of them mention custom brushes for almost everything.

Nope.
The only brush I used was a soft basic round one that varies opacity with pen pressure.
Then again, my only real focus was lighting -part of the reason this looks so flat is because there's zero texture - which is where the custom brushes would come in.

That looks really cool! I love the shading and glow effects, they look really good!
