Description This started out as a completely different idea... one which went horribly wrong (I was trying to paint Apollo... I guess he didn't care to be painted at that time), so I threw a cup of water over it and dropped white ink into the puddles which formed.

When it had dried I returned, saw shapes, took a pen and scratched away at them and this is the result.

White ink, watercolour and some oil pastel on watercolour paper. 11x15 inches.

Wow, you produced part of this accidentally? What a lucky accident it was, and now I'm just itching to throw some water on paper too. But really, it's a beautiful work and the dandelions etc. plants are nice to look at, the effect is so soft. I like how the character is sort of "hidden". Great work!

I will, it seems like such a crazy idea that I just have to. New techniques are fun to discover.

you could have sid taht you did this on purpose and noone would ever have guessed that it went wrong at any point of the process, coz it's so fascinating...
Coincidence was an awesome ally here! (or was it destiny?)
it just shows how you can't plan everything and anything... and that good things can just... happen

I really like this piece of great art
you're very talented and must have a great imagination to just scratch beauty out of a painting-gone-wrong with white ink on it!

Thank you for the well thought out comments... a lot of interesting things can come out of something not quite turning out how it was intended.
