They stole from the Custodes, and the Grey Knights. They could steal anything. They're probably able to steal everything because of two reasons:
One: Indrick Boreal became a Chaos God and is helping his former battle brothers.
Two: Or the Emperor using them as a punishment.
Or Magnus is helping them somehow. It's probably the first two.
