Kid still wonders if the Calamity woulda been kinder. Still knows he woulda been needed in Bastion though. So he gets up, and does what he has to do. He moves on.

Had to favourite this one. There's almost something about this that incorporates everything I love about Bastion. The colour palette, the swirld and tiling style.. And then your elaboration with the close up detail and the expression on the kids face are almost as expressive as the narrator himself!

I love how you incorporated that sort of bright colors and interesting line work that's in the game art. How's the gameplay?

gameplay is good, quite direct, not unlike isometric zelda titles (especially the way you’ll use the evasion roll over and over again to be faster)
but when you play it, you’ll realize why the first time i had to think about the question was when you asked it: in every other game i thought about gameplay at some point, in bastion i got instead immersed into the narration immediately when starting a new play session.

its ok, nothing innovative, but I don't mind that, as long as the story and characters are well integrated with it. The way you battle is really customizable to your way of fighting mobs
mostly I was just distracted by the gorgeous art though haha and then the story and music really hit me as well <3

Great painting! Especially since it is full of really light pastel colors instead of complete grayness. I love how you caught the emotions of the whole chapter through the colors and Kid's expression.

Yeah, I loved that level. so little exposition, or the exposition they had didn't interfere with the flow of the game
I loved the fact that this game was so lush and colorful but underneath it all, this world was torn apart and everybody's dead 8I

My problem was that I usually lost parts of the dialog because I was running from something and forgot to pay attention to the narrator. But that's what second playthroughs are for!
